AI sols are 340 brand new.

LFS have 15% off dry goods Sales almost once a month.

Which brings the ai sol down to 340.

Why are people paying 340 for used on this forum?

apexifd 01-23-2013 02:36 PM

you guys are lucky.

Proteus 01-23-2013 03:31 PM

Could be with a controller or OBO

Some people may not want to wait on shipping

fishyfishster 01-23-2013 04:52 PM

I offered a guy 280 and he wouldn't go below 350. Just for the light

People need to stop paying so much for used sols.

You don't even know why you hate them. You can't say they don't produce results

fishmanty 01-23-2013 09:11 PM

To be fair when you put the taxes on, they jump up past the $350 you often see them sold at.

If someone had a controller they wanted to include, maybe some rails... then the $350 used (gently) is a reasonable price.

For sale: AI sol super blue, used 1 month (shut down tank), rails and controller - Asking $339 =)

Also who cares what others pay. You sell what ever you want for any price. If I could sell you a 20 dollar bill for 100 bucks I would gladly do it. Something is worth watever others will pay.

I was the guy who said no to his 280 offer.. I had another offer of 330 on the table, so I took it. Nothing personal.

I don't think many people would accept $280 for something that's worth $50-80 more then that.

How do you figure a used SOL can be worth 330 to 350 dollars when anyone can go to red coral on a sale day and buy it for 340 brand new?

Nano 01-30-2013 12:28 AM

Just sold my sol for $350 with mount and controller. I think that's what your missing here. most sols are being sold with the controller which adds to the value, that coupled with the fact that the buyer will have at least 3-4 years out of the light depending on the age and care of the unit, its a small investment in the big picture.

adding a mount and controller is another story which obviously adds value. but im talking about just the light

Proteus 01-30-2013 01:30 AM

Even so your talkin about sale day. Sales are not all day every day. The used sol price is.

e46er 01-30-2013 01:40 AM

Because reg price at JL is $420 plus tax then add tax (BC 12%) puts it at $470 so it's a fair amount of savings....

mrhasan 01-30-2013 02:54 AM

LEDs have a very good resale value; that's why!

I was more or less getting at the fact if you had something posted for sale and were asking $350 for it (regardless of what it is or others may think its worth) you maybe be willing to take a little bit less for it but not a lot less for it.
