Best thing to clean filter socks
http://i1287.photobucket.com/albums/...CFC29B272F.jpg
Picked this bad boy up today no more washing socks by hand for this guy lol |
Heck I use the washing machine. Little bit of bleach on the first cycle, 2 rinses, and 1 more time the same without bleach.
|
+1 on washing machine & bleach, 2 cycles with extra rinse.
|
+2 washing machine all the way
|
Washing machine, no bleach.

Washing machine with a bit of bleach.

Washing machine with whites, that now all smell like poop and are brown but I saved some water...
Jk of course.... Ive use bleach and no bleach they come out whiter with bleach. No real performance difference either way |
The Ms doesn't like the idea of fish poo in washer so I soak hydrogen peroxide for few days. Comes out white as new

I'm doing hydrogen peroxide also. (much stronger than chlorine)
- dry sock completely (H2O2 reacts with non-pure-water, you want this just not yet) - Soak in a small pail (I use a 2 gallon margarine container, soak it for an hour, about 1/4 cup per sock, or 1/2 for 3-4 socks) - rince with HOT tap water (I turn inside out during rinse) that's it. H2O2 reacts and disolves to water and oxygen when all is done and rinsed/etc -- nothing harmful to go back into the tank!! no risk of chlorine nor possibilities of fabric softeners LOL |
I rinse them (inside out) out as much waste as possible with tap water first than dry them. I soak few socks at a time but I leave it for a day or 2 (lazy ). Rinse under hot water and air dry. Costco has packs of 4x500ml for $3.50
