Why Buy a ProfiLux Controller
I think this is most probably the greatest tool in the ProfiLux's chest for savings anyones tank.
The GHL flow meter which can be programmed to turn off a failed pump and turn on a redundancy pump automatically, plus other great uses http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i1...ps0c4d0531.jpg http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i1...ps21c8d45d.jpg This is why people that are serious about they're tanks use ProfiLux because it has the tools to reliably save your tank from crashes due to mechanical failures. GHL ProfiLux remains the professional choice |
Guess I better add this to my list for the new P3 i am wanting to order soon.

So let me get this correct the only way Mac users can interface with the profilux is either through an emulator or via P3 yes?
|
Catherine, I have my profilux through my Mac via parallels. I have the remote app as well and can access it from work. I just set up my P3 now and am just starting to get everything set up and connected, but it seems to work just fine. Now I have just updated to parallels 8 and windows 8pro, they work very well together and so far I have not had much troubles getting things to work.

Great advise thanks for helping out, I am not a Mac user so appreciate any help from our great user base on this.
But you know this now makes you canreefs official network support specialist for GHL! |
I'm fed up with DA's non-existant progress with certain RKE changes and am actively looking for another controller to run my new system, however I need mac compatibility without any hassle of having to rig something together to "sort of" make it work.
How easy was it for you to do all of what you mentioned above? Also do you work in IT or have a computer background? Back when I bought my RKE I passed over the profilux for two reasons; a) no mac compatibility and b) it seemed like a lot of early adopters had issues or struggled with set-up and some consistent running issues. Granted it seems like both these issues have been solved, but how well? |

When I switched to the P3 ex, I upgraded to parallels 8 and what a difference that made. Things run a lot smoother and the initial hook up with the P3 was almost too easy compared to the P2. Windows 8 and parallels 8 may be the key, as they seem to work hand in hand. I'm just starting to get everything hooked back up, I only have my Eco blue pumps running at the moment, this in itself make the P3 worth it for me. As I can do pretty much anything with the DC pumps. Let me know if you need anything else, or even talk to Jason, he's a little better at things like this. At any rate, I can throw a few current pics up if you want, just to give you an idea of what it looks like. Thanks, Bob |

We're going to have to talk and plan a day when I can come out there. I haven't seen the new tank yet, let alone those fancy new lights of yours. |
Catherine, you wont find any issues using ProfiLux it is trusted by some of the largest medical research centers in the USA, if its good enough for them......
Reliability is the key, nothing comes close IMO. Yes like anything advanced there is a learning curve but with a global support network on hand it is rare a question goes unanswered for long. This is a professional system that just keeps on growing, if you want a controller that will last the test of time, then go with this as it will pay itself back in not a long period where other people are still struggling with flaky third party APPS and having to learn code etc. |
There was talk of an app for control with I phone is this in the works or thrown out.
|
The Android is in Beta right now, any ProfiLux user can sign up to this program. once stable the Iphone APP will follow.
The reason Android first is because debugging does not mean having to send it to Apple for multiple approvals which cost. GHL develop their own APPS so things are always a bit slower. |
