BLue clownfish?
Talking with my daughter today about clownfish and the different types and she tells me that she wants a blue one. I told her that i have never seen one and don't think they exist and yet we did an internet search and there you have it, they do exist. So my question is, does anyone out have any blue clownfish?

there are blue stripped clownfish
but I have never heard of or seen of a blue clownfish the pictures online appear to be photoshopped verses actual fish. |

Bill Addison (Pappa Bill) at C-Quest once had a strain of maroons that were nearly purple/black. Not around anymore though.

here's the Blue Striped Clown. Naturally occurring species, fairly expensive... wholesale price (when available) on importer lists is about $40 each USD before shipping/losses/quarantine overhead. Not easy to get wild specimens without some kind of ciliated parasite. I lost about a dozen of these trying to get broodstock a while back.
Amphiprion chrysopterus is part of the 'clarkii complex' http://www.ozanimals.com/image/album...sopterus-1.jpg |
The other pic on this thread is a snowflake. The pattern is white with a slight (very very faint) tint of blue on the edge but it is mostly white and seing blue in there require some imagination :)
The blue one on the pic has been turned blue with Photoshop. That does not exist. Tell your doughter that what she wants is a healthy clownfish...and to keep it healthy. |
