Pic Request: Large Cubes

with a new house comes a new tank. thinking about setting up an inwall cube. 200+ gallons

anyone have pictures of their large cube or cubish tanks?

Aquattro 04-04-2012 04:26 AM

I have a large cube, but it's a half full frag tank. Probably not pic worthy :)

NorthernCoral 04-04-2012 04:35 AM

This is not my tank , but I was very close to building a tank with the same dimensions as this, just a little much for me at this point. Amazing cube if you ask me. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZCLlg...eature=channel

The Grizz 04-04-2012 04:35 AM

The cube at the store is 200 gallons, you know the dimensions, 4 foot by 4 foot by 20 inches tall, 4 radions, profilux 3 ultimate, vertex skimmer, 2 mp40wes, 1 mp10wes..... Herbie drains..... Prodibio.... Whew I think that's about it.... Oh ya will be macked out with sps this weekend as soon as I lower the lights!

But if you are looking at a custom in wall, I would recommend something long in a long wall, you get the most viewing from that.... A cube would almost be wasted unless its viewable from at least 3 sides.....

I wanna do a corner in wall. Viewable from 2 sides

RedCoralEdmonton 04-04-2012 05:29 AM

Well then that settles it.... 8 foot long, 4 foot wide, and 3 foot tall, wait that's another tank we are doing right now..... But you should do it too, cuz that's epic!

Steve

Started as a refuge, ended as the LPS/giant clam version. I remember I had to cut that bottom tank to get that clam out at then end

If I'm correct Untamed on here is a stunning 400g+ system that's viewable from 2 sides.

Ooo and here is the link: here

MarkoD 04-04-2012 05:41 PM

Thanks guys . The plan is to go a corner cube with a drop off in the back corner

Zoaelite 04-04-2012 05:45 PM

I'm having a hard time visualizing this, mind drawing a quick sketch in paint?

Oooo, I like .

Could make for some painful aquascaping if its not accessible from the front and back.

Itll be fully open from the back and left side.

Plus I'd secure the dry rock on the cliff before putting the tank in.

It's a brand new house. So I have the freedom to build the wall around the tank

While not a cube, it is or was rather... cubish.
Worth a look at his website if you haven't seen it before.

It's eurobraced
