I actually run a 9.5 hr cycle.

4pm- dawn cycle
5pm - full lights
1030-130 - dusk

It is supposed to start at 3pm and off at 1230am, but too lazy to change my timers to DST.

I love the dawn and dusk cycle... Colors just pop.

With the new LEDs, I will probably be extending my photoperiod to over 12 hours altogether.

When I set up a different timer for the blues, it will be 15 hours of blues (8x10w @100%) and 12 hours of whites (12x10000k, 3x20000k & 3x6500k @ 70%). So an hour & a half of dawn & dusk effect each.

8hrs daylight only plus a couple for actinics

Dez 01-30-2012 12:47 AM

14 hrs.

eli@fijireefrock.com 01-30-2012 02:42 AM

15hrs total DIY LED
1.5 hrs dawn and 1 hrs dusk

I have halides and no chiller, so winter is 12 hours, summer 8. It slowly changes throughout the year to get there.

badAZZlars 01-30-2012 03:02 AM

10 hrs. Halides are only on for 7.

cwatkins 01-30-2012 09:21 PM

I voted wrong. Should have been 10 hours. Forgot to include dawn/dusk :) I was just thinking Halides.

I did the same, but I have a single actinic for dawn/dusk, I can't count that as light. It's on 8am to midnight..

vanreefer 01-30-2012 11:53 PM

T5's on at 08 and off at 22
MH on at 12 off at 20

Kgrizzle 01-31-2012 01:12 AM

I'm trying to find the best cycle aswell... What are the Benifits to a longer day vs a shorter day?... I will have 4 t5 ho 2 are blue and 2 are white

PoonTang 02-04-2012 08:47 PM

My dawn/dusk is handled by the seasonal programming built into my apex but it basically varies it from 11 to 13 hours total over the year. I run my MH for a constant 9h/day throught the year.
