Lofus 02-24-2004 06:07 PM

I sure hope those aren't dyed zoos!!

Quinn 02-24-2004 06:14 PM

Taikonaut on RDO said that he knows the seller, and the auction just went crazy. He wasn't expecting that much but when people start bidding high, it's not like you're going to email them when you're the seller and tell them to bid lower.

butters88 02-24-2004 06:15 PM

Thats US dollars too

Stretch 02-24-2004 06:56 PM

IMO i don't think they are worth that even if i was a zoo fan.

Willito 02-24-2004 07:05 PM

Where can a guy get some colourful Zoos like that....blue, orange, green, red, pink, purple...... Has anyone ever seen some of the more brightly coloured ones for sale at J&L or such stores? What would they be worth?
I just love the way they look in a massive colony with all the colours of the rainbow.

I would pay $600 USD for a fish if I wanted it enough, but for a coral, especially one that reproduces like zoos do, no bloody way. Maybe $30 for a frag of that size, no more.

BCOrchidGuy 02-24-2004 08:23 PM

I'm willing to bet the soul who ends up paying for it will need to frag it quickly to pay for it. You may get your $30 soon... lol..

Namscam 02-24-2004 08:26 PM

The guy that bought that zoo frag must be:
1) very rich to throw all that money away, in which case i would gladly take the money off his hands
OR
2) just gonna bail out in the last second because he wanted to mess around with the auction
or the last answer which i think he is if he actually bought it
3) brain damaged

AI Man 02-24-2004 08:48 PM

I have almost every color of zooanthus he has on his website(and some he doesn't).I don't have the blue :frown:
I frag all of them regularly and often have full colonies for sale too.
PM me so I can have some ready next time you are in Edmonton.

butters88 02-24-2004 10:39 PM

Imagine how much a tank would be worth if all corals were $600+
phew!

Holy crap! I wish Edmonton were closer to Calgary and I'd take you up on that offer

Christy :)

Firstly I hope for the seller the guy pays.

Secondly, if he doesnt pay im sure the second guy will not either.

Don't you remember when Rose BTA were like $3 or $400 bucks....

Wendell

PS Too bad you cant short futures on those babies.

whaase 02-25-2004 01:18 AM

I'm glad I stopped bidding at $550. It would just be crazy to spend $600

I looked at his website, and I feel the pictures could be a lot better. However, those blue zoos are only $69.00 there. He charges some healthy prices for that stuff. Maybe I should go into the zoanthid business as retirement project

Delphinus 03-01-2004 05:45 AM

How about this? Seems FAR more reasonable ...

The auction isn't over yet. Come on, someone make a larger bid.

spikehs 03-03-2004 02:21 AM

damn, where do people get the $$ for that stuff.... I MIGHT consider buying it for $400 if it was encrusted with diamonds, even then i dunno.

Odd. The seller cancelled the auction after the bids reached several hundred dollars. Fake auction? No actual good to sell?

whaase 04-02-2004 02:32 AM

Maybe it died?

Walter

sbrown 04-02-2004 02:56 AM
