e46er 12-23-2011 12:21 AM

i use vertex - only used them not sure how they compare

I believe there is only 3 companies that produce the stuff. So many of them are the same. I am using both TLF NPX and Reef Intrests N/P BioPellets. I have had good results with reduction. But my leathers and pulsing xenia bleached... Not 100% its related but it was only a week after I started these.

I started with NP Pellets but now using the Vertex Pellets. I have a huge Devils Hand & Colt Coral & have never had anything bleach out at all.

Thank you for the inputs. Vertex Pellets I go.

I believe that Concepts in Calgary has the best price on the Vertex Pellets.

The Grizz 12-23-2011 03:17 AM

On the site it says " free shipping on first time orders & orders over $99 "

No worries, it took me a few minutes to see it too  & I was starring right at it for like 30 secs :surprise:

Actually... All the brands mentioned above are actually exactly the same product, the only difference may be the shape of the pellet and the packaging that surrounds it. All of these pellets are produced by a U.S. bio plastics company. If anything it is better to buy Canadian since Vertex is a Canadian based company.

Very good point for sure.

Are all these brands PHA?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polyhydroxyalkanoates

Add BRS to the list if so......

paddyob 12-25-2011 01:37 AM

Warner marine ecobak.

Cheaper than vertex. I have heard they are all pretty much the same.

I feel it's working for me. Minimal algae.

cwatkins 12-25-2011 06:41 AM

I've gone through 2 bags of the Vertex pellets with no issues. I'm now trying the BRS pellets since they were on sale during black friday.
