Grammar edumacation

I can't help but face palm myself after seeing what some people are posting.

Here's a quick tutorial:

You're- means "you are" (you're stupid for not knowing this)
Your- refers to something that belongs to the person you're talking too(your reef tank)

Their- when something belongs to someone (their reef tank)
There- referring to a place (look over there)
They're- means "they are" (they're really nice people)

We're- means "we are" (we're really nice people)
Were- past tense of "to be" (they were just here)

This is a period. It allows the reader to know when one sentence finishes and when the next is about to begin

I think the biggest problem here is most users are posting from there mobiles now, my phone defaults to t9 word and has a stupid spelling correction mode.

Or what about the people who can't complete sentences?

Like, I have this tank and its 20gals and ive got some fish but, you see ive has this problem and id really like some help with it if that would be possible thanks. T9 wouldnt be the culprit:razz:

Lose - To come to be without. ( I hope I don't lose my wedding ring when I go swimming in the lake. )

Loose - Not fastened, restrained, or contained. ( I'm searching for loose change around the house, so I can buy a coffee on my way to work. )

You may want to revisit your own post paying attention to the punctuation while you’re on the topic.

Periods are not required got lists, and a comma before "and" is not required either

plus you just totally missed a period in your post

Nano 12-07-2011 09:54 PM

The joys of having all this technology! But wait why doesn't it work!?
http://damnyouautocorrect.com/13603/...cs-first-year/ This was a pretty good laugh and a great example of auto correct's bad word choice. Some in fact most are probably fake, but I can for one say that I have asked my wife to find my good shirt, and it corrected to "Good ****"

reefwars 12-07-2011 10:00 PM

No need for grammar during the kitchen parties

(Does  count as a period?)

There is spell check on your iPhone and computer. Use it. You've made it at least past grade 3, use some brain matter (as painful as that may be). If I get to meet you in real life and you type like this, I might slap you for being retarted... yes, that's even worse than being retarded. Just saying...:twised:
