Netting Damsels
I have 2 pesky Damsels that i'm trying to catch. I have lots of liverock so its proving difficult. Any tips?
Try the bottle trap with some food. Your going to need some patience with those guys. I have had to remove almost everything in the tank to catch one.
Being a damsel, try net feeding.
Put food into a net, and wait patiently. After a day or three all your fish will go into the next to get food. Wait for the damsel and snatch it out fast. |
Sorry, what's the bottle trap?
Smazter, I feed them mysis they just seem to disintegrate. Amy ideas?
Sure.
Let them stay, learn to love them. |
unfortunately the three together kill everything. And I want to step up my fish collection.

Ive had a damsel in my tank for 6 years. might I suggest a taser?
Get a lion fish
That's perfect, thanks. I will try it sion and give an update.

I recall seeing a forum thread where someone used a very small, baited, barbless fishook to catch a damsel. Don't recall where I saw this or if it was even successful. If the Damsels are real small, may not be an option since there may not be a hook small enough.

Depth charges:wink:
I have the same task in front of me with 2 big Sgt. Majors. |
Ive used small barbless hooks with mysis to catch damsels and tomato clowns
The video was perfect. One down and one to go... the first time I lost too much of the bait food into the tank. So the other Damsel might not b hungry until tomorrow.
