Amphipods
saw about 5-8 amphipods on the base of my millipora few days ago and they're about 8-10mm long..now this morning the area where i saw them has turned white and no tissues left [small size maybe 4mm and 10mm long]..used a baster to see if any tissue would come off but no signs of peeling or decaying tissue. could the pods be eating it?
 |
If I'm not mistaken they will eat it if it's dead and or decaying. Pods aren't normally destructive. Is that a new peice in your tank?

the coral is fairly new about 2weeks
but its not dead or decaying because there was polyp extensions coming out from the base could an epoxy inflict some damage on a coral? |

Use super glue gel next time, much better for SPS corals. No die off, and they rapidly grow over it.

Hey Steve,
I guess the tissue covered by the glue dies, but in my experience there is living tissue all the way to the glue line. Mike |
what brand of glue do you guys recommend and where can i get some
=o/ thanks |

Hey Jesse,
I recommend the super glue gel from home hardware, put a big glob on the sps you want to attach, and quickly stick it to the rock. Dry off the place on the coral you are putting the glue if possible. Mike |
