If you want more than one, do you have to add them all at the same time?

I wonder what the minimum tank size would be.

Bloodasp 12-07-2010 02:18 AM

Problem with those isnt so much the initial cost of getting them, its the upkeep thats required to keep them that breaks the bank. Only the best and largest tank thats never big enough, the food bill, oh jeeze the food bill.

You're right, they seem like they are really really really high maintenance! I think I'll pass on them. Although, I could maybe rehome them later if things get out of hand?

Milad 12-07-2010 02:54 AM

it would be interesting to watch them host

Edmonton newbie 12-07-2010 03:03 AM

anyone in edmonton want to go halfers on a school/harem of them?

sitandwatch 12-07-2010 03:05 AM

At least no shoes are required for upkeep.

With my luck, I'd order some, but just get a bunch of supermales. Who would proceed to dangle me upside down to shake out whatever lunch money I had in my pockets.

lockrookie 12-07-2010 03:43 PM

think of the hair clogging the power heads and pumps. the cost of keep up and time invested would just be enough to break a person. not to mention im guessing simular to a sea urchin they would re-aquascape your system the way they want it whether you like it or not.

i think i would pass all in all some things should be left in thewild to fend for thier own.

Polyps on corals and boobies with fins
These are a few of my favourite things.

This thread is just way too bad! But very funny...

StirCrazy 12-07-2010 10:37 PM

who needs two? I think a 180 would hold them fine. not much swimming room but you could take them out of the tank for short periods and give them some exercise

just try and add another in the tank after they have settled in; might be in for a bit of trouble

Don't chance it!

I had a buddy who kept one. He had to constantly entertain it or it would make noise that would put a school of pistol shrimp to shame! They also need constant tank upgrades to keep them happy. Sadly, my buddy came home one day after a long day at work to find that it had gotten out of the tank and left. :( It took all of the corals, rock, skimmers ect. He was left alone with an empty box of salty water.
It didn't end there.

He now also pays support for the fry through a government program.
