that sucks!!! Act quick, get out looking asap, people tend to get comfy after awhile and lose focus on finding a new job!! hit-er-hard!!!

fishoholic 06-30-2010 03:30 AM

That sucks, hope you can find something else soon.

pterfloth 06-30-2010 03:44 AM

Vitaminz 06-30-2010 03:57 AM

Sorry to hear about your layoff, but if you are not to picky, I think we are hiring general labours, if you are interesed. PM me for details.

Flash 06-30-2010 04:09 AM

I am not wasting any time... there is no "getting comfortable" for me.. I always have to be busy... resume is ready.. and I am just trying to figure out what will pay my bills! lol!

Riptide 06-30-2010 04:42 AM

What are you looking for in the way of work?? Start throwing resumes out in Nisku....someones bound to bite.

Wingin It 06-30-2010 05:28 AM

If you're not already late on your bills, you can usually go about 2-3 mths without disconnection or other serious consequences...though, you will probably want to do your absolute best to keep those mortgage payments on time. Utilities, phones, other non-essentials can wait a bit. ;)

Slick Fork 06-30-2010 06:08 AM

Not that anyone should advocate missing payments intentionally but... you're actually better off phoning the bank telling them you are temporarily out of work and see about temporarily lowering your mortgage payment or skipping one altogether.

If you take the initiative they are usually quite reasonable. Utilities tend not to be as patient

Damn sorry about the luck. But there is lots of work out there, summer is a good time for job hunting! What line of work are you in?

gobytron 06-30-2010 01:42 PM

Day trade.

When I got laid off a cuple years back I started to day trade...
mostly small to mid cap junior mining and energy plays.

Wound up making about 2500/month until I found another job...
it toook me a year and like 100 applications to finally land a job, I thought it would be SO much easier...

Parker 06-30-2010 02:00 PM
