It seems we have a number of excellent candidates for reef club logo.

Here is my attempt to try to formalize a selection process.

As far as I can tell, here are the following candidates (in no particular order, and if I've missed any, please let me know so I can add them to the list):

PS. If you have multiple selections entered, and if you would prefer one be omitted in lieue of another submission of yours (i.e., one was just a work-in-progress or something like that), please let me know and I will edit the list accordingly. If you would like your entry removed, let me know. Or, if you have had another creative flash of inspiration and have a new one to add to the list, let me know that too.

PPS. Am I allowed to vote, or as "self appointed returning officer" should I remain unbiased?

PPPS. I thought we should put a deadline on this rather than leave it open-ended. So as it stands right now polls will tentatively close September 30. :mrgreen:

As many times as it takes to win! :cool: Just kidding. Everyone should only be allowed one vote. When I think about it, I'm sure the board regulates this, since you can't vote without being logged in.

You two are hilarious - yes, you can only vote once.

I guess it's too late for this, but I would have liked to remove 2 and 3 from the running. I really don't like the mountains. Oh well.

Yeah I was thinking it would be good to make sure everyone votes, but then after I posted I realized they have a whole month... personally I visit the threads on the special intro page (most recent ten) and I forget that lots of people skip that and browse the forums. It was gone from that page so I immediately reacted. But I won't be able to do that for a whole month.

Quinn ... if you use " view posts since last visit " then you wont miss a thing :mrgreen:

Yeah, I agree - it's the best combination of the other similar ones. What kind of minor changes - like make the water BLUE?

The polls don't have to stay open for a month if that's too long...

We can also produce a short list of the above if that's what people would prefer... and then poll again based on that ... or ... not ...

If you want to take an existing picture and modify it (i.e., like making water blue :mrgreen: ), I'm OK with that, but should we reset the poll or let the modified one keep it's previous number???

I myself still haven't voted. They're all my favourite. I can't make a decision (that's pretty typical of me ... I know.. :rolleyes: Mr. Indecision)

We're a democratic society (actually ... "anarchaic" may be more accurate) ... we can do whatever we want with the poll. Myself, I sort of see maybe 5 entries out of the whole list that have enough votes to be considered a "short list" and maybe we can polish them up a bit and then go again or something like that.

And I don't think we necessarily have to choose one. For example if we were thinking of making Tshirts or something, one of the more imagey ones could be like the mural-on-the-back thing, and one could be the patch-on-the-front thing.

I think Tony was going to pare down the list to a more manageable number and maybe vote again on a " crest " and a " mural " of the most popular ones ... and yes I am in for T-shirts / Ball Caps / Mugs etc

I am really busy with mid-terms and papers but I don't work today so I will try to revise my logo like I said I would.
