Reef get together
Christy will be here tentatively for the Aug 15-17 weekend. We'd like to do up a soiree for her here, likely Sat nite and also some tank tours that day or Sunday. I'll also need someone to take her to Wai's...
All welcome, and more details to follow. |
WOO-HOO! (Does she know we're pretty darned boring??)
I'm not afraid of Wai's!  |
Sounds GREAT. Hopefully I will have something to show here regaring the 230 by them
|
This is just to make everyone happy. I am never in town on weekends in the summer. (that is when I enjoy my real life)
|
We know Bob. It is planned that way... Ahhh, just kiddin' ya !
|
I should be around that weekend. Count me in!!! Hey Christy want to show off YOUR tank before then? I'm in Nanaimo next week.
|
I should be around as well ... work Noon to 5 on weekends though at the showhome so before or after would work for me
Cheers |
I am in.

As to verbiage, I would not be too concerned about an innocent post. I have always found it to be best not to read to much into a post from someone I have not even met. :BIG: |
Hey......... I may be staying till August 23rd so why don't we combine it so that you don't have to go on another tank/store tour :D
I'll keep you posted. Cheers, Victor |
That would be great Victor ! Then you can hit the party !
It'll be held probably 5-whenever. Everyone, bring your own beverage. |
Hey cool! I need to pay attention to this forum more often. Whee!
Hey Em, will there be cake?  |
Maybe some brownies....

Aw, our wheelchairs.....
Also, forgot to mention, of course spouses are welcome if they are remotely interested in hanging out with fish geeks.... So anyone else who plans to attend or just drop by, or whatever, kindly let me know so we have some idea. I may need you to bring lawn chairs. |
Sounds like fun. I am about 70.3% sure that I can make it. Work seems to mess up any plans I make more than 7 days ahead.
|
Kari, are you sure you've done the math properly? What about the 0.043%/day possibility your tank could explode on you? And don't forget the 0.0000017% chance the Iraqi military will invade NE Calgary? I think you should check your numbers...
|
70.3% is good enough for me! See you there Kari!
|
I might come. But then again, I might not...of course if beverages were supplied then that could change everything :drinking: .
Us folk's in the south could "pool" a ride, drink your liqour cabinet dry, and puke in your neighbours flowerbeds. Then ya' can throw us all in a cab, or the back of a police van, and apologize to Christy for the behavior of the guys from the south side of the city... My weekends are usually as open as my weedays, as I have no real life. Not even in the summer... |
You should get away more on the weekends Doug!
|
Haha, no apologies necessary. I'd probly be in the paddywagon with ya, wiping my mouth on my sleeve

The odds are going up from somewhere since another day has passed. |
There was an article in the National Post the other day about teenagers and house parties. Us young people can be pretty destructive.

We will be having some demo's:
Christy teaching me how to take a pic. |
Going back to a real early fish party, we are suggesting you wear something fishy.
For Barry, this was a fish potholder pinned on his shirt. I have an ick shirt I wear. Whatever... |

(Anyone want to hear my "We Survived the B.C. Firestorm of 2003" story about driving back from Victoria in a day?) So Anyways, this party is on the 16th (Saturday)? Looks good... |

Rolling into Kamloops yesterday...
http://members.shaw.ca/AJ_77/Kamloops_smoking.jpg The fire was supposed to be 50k away, but the mtn across from town went up just the day before, and was still smouldering. We met couple that had been evacuated from one valley over and didn't know if their home was still there or not... We found that our hotel room was full with a tour mob so we booked it for home, in the dark and smoke... Fun drive. Then we hit the smoke from the Jasper fire (choke) around Lake Louise - very thick. I was actually glad to see flat land again, and clear skies. But tonight we seem boxed in by smoke a little... |

That's wickedly scary Alan.
We've been watching the fires pretty closely as our daughter lives in the Crowsnest Pass. Jack:   |
It's good to see we got the thread off topic - I couldn't bare to pull this together without at least five pages....
Ok, since we are providing FOOD..... we need to make sure we have enough I've got: Alan 2 Steve 2 Jon 3  Quinn 2 Kari 1 Doug 2? Tina 2 Where are the new guys - you can come too you know...? I was thinking about a door prize, but everyone wants SPS... (Amended for Kari.) and Tony and Tina and Quinn |
Should we bring anything besides our drinks?
|
Depends on what Christy wants.....
|
Jon = 2 1/2 and growing :lol:
