Scuba Gear

I have some available if you want to get into diving.

Could always use another dive buddy.

And if anyone wants to go diving PM me.

banditpowdercoat 03-03-2009 01:41 AM

I'd love to learn to dive, But I am a little to far away :(

High tide 03-03-2009 04:20 PM

Let's go for a dive buddy! You might have to take it easy on me a bit, my last dive was 110 ft...little bit of narcosis, but still cool. 60 ft and under sounds better.

Jack 03-03-2009 11:03 PM

Okay, let me know when you want to go diving...

The vis at whytecliff latley has been poor.

High tide 03-04-2009 02:53 AM

Is Whytecliff where you usually go? How's the vis at Porteau? I still got two full tanks, it should be ok to wear my dry suit, the only thing I need to borrow is a BCD and reg, spg. What are your days off?

Jack 03-04-2009 05:21 AM

I go to Whytecliff more because it's closer.

I would say Porteau is more interesting if we are gonna do a shallower dive 50-60ft... because of the Granthal wreck.

... but I like going deep on the cut at Whytecliff 80-120ft - even better on a night dive.

I got reg, bcd, and spg setup you can use. BCD is a medium but it'll work fine. I've got a drysuit whip you can use too.

Vis is about the same it's just the run off from the snowmelt or rain I dunno... been a bad 2 weeks.

I have weekends off.

I will keep an eye on the vis reports. http://www.scubaboard.com/forums/wes...ndition-8.html

High tide 03-04-2009 05:41 AM

Yeah, run off makes sense, hopefully it settles down a bit. Let's hope for some good vis!

Porteau is that past horse sheo bay? The wreck would be great place to go diving. We could all go in one truck.

justinl 03-04-2009 07:22 PM

I did a couple dives yesterday at Cliff cove and Lookout point. Viz at three feet or so... yeah, Id say the Spring bloom has arrived :P

Jason McK 03-04-2009 09:18 PM

So are you going diving? When? Can I come?

Ya past Horseshoe Bay by maybe 20 min. Taking one truck would be great.

That's awesome, i've been thinking about a freshwater dive. Have you heard of Pavillion Lake between Cache Creek and Lillooet? It has large microbial carbonate rock structures call microbialites(almost coral like), some of the first organisms to inhabit the earth!! It would be cool to dive that but, it's deep and I think you need a special permit to do so. Pretty sweet, look it up if you don't already know. Anyways, the vis was a good 100 ft.+ when I dove off the Molokini Crater, Hawaii. Pretty cool down 110 ft., Blue throat triggers, Potters angels, male Psychedelic wrasse and harem...sweeet!!

Jack 03-05-2009 11:06 PM

I have heard of that freshwater lake - saw a tv show about it - kinda crazy stuff.

I would love to dive in Hawaii...

Marlin65 03-06-2009 02:55 AM

I would be interested as long as you don't mind having a novice along. Less the 20 dives here. Have almost all my gear missing my tanks. would love to get out though.

Sounds great but don't worry I'm no pro - about 80 logged dives.

I wish I had more tanks so I could lend you 2. If you need anything else let me know.

I'm not sure how long the murky conditions are gonna be around but we'll try to get a group dive setup in the next 2-4 weeks.

PM me your contact info.
