The Future Of Profilux Please Read

Well as the rumours are starting to get out there both Matthias and I thought it was time to give them the foundation they deserve.

We are pleased to announce that the ProfiLux III is now in development! AND VERY IMPORTANT: The ProfiLux Plus II (eX) can be upgraded to ProfiLux III !!!

So first what will this have?

At present not all features are in known as this is still in the early stages, and will be developed as the project moves forward.

What is known is the following:

ProfiLux III will look like the ProfiLux Plus II, for a reason but with differences:
a) Graphic display, USB & LAN on board, connector for new Bus-system (ProfiLux Aquatic Bus – PAB)
b) No more limits for probe count or socket count
c) Additional cards (if you have more than 3) will be plugged in an extra “expansion” box – looks like the ProfiLux Plus II housing but has no display or keys, can hold up to 8 cards, these extension boxes will be connected via the PAB, several of these boxes can be daisy-chained
d) Upgrade option for ProfiLux Plus II (eX) which follows on from our commitment to you as a controller that is future proof, the kit includes: Kit with replacement for the front PCB + special card with PAB and USB & LAN -> this turns the ProfiLux Plus II (eX) into a ProfiLux III.

Ok so now some questions.

FAQ:

Q: is this just an upgrade for existing users or a whole new controller?
A: BOTH!!, This is the first time that a manufacturer has not only thought of new users but importantly made existing users have access to this huge advancement without having to buy a whole new system. One thing that is highly important to GHL is it's current user base and as such this barnd new controller will be made available in upgrade form for all ProfiLux current users as well as being available as a complete new controller.

Q: I was just about to buy a ProfiLux II might as well wait
A: As we have always said the PII is future proof, you will be able to simply upgrade your unit to a PIII, we will also offer a promotion to PII (eX) owners at time of launch, so you would be missing out by holding off, in a very big way.

Q: I have a ProfiLux Plus II, just bought it now I hear of this. What can you do for me?
A: Please see above. You have just bought yourself a discount to the next generation without even knowing it.

Q: So there will be 3 main models, Profilux Plus II, ProfiLux Plus II eX, and the new ProfiLux III.
A: Yes, all priced accordingly, and they all can be turned into a ProfiLux III

Q: So when will this launch?
A: We are not going to fall in this trap, no launch date will be provided but it will be no less than 6 months.

Q: Will there be a web server intergration?
A: Yes this is being worked on even now.

Q: What about bugs, new controllers can come with bugs.
A: If you know ProfiLux you will know how strict our policy is on this, nothing gets released to the open market before full beta testing in genuine enviroments.

Q: Will you be looking for beta testers?
A: Possibly, but please don't start applying at this early stage.

Q: Will software stay free?
A: YES ALWAYS!

Q: Can I really have as many probes and power bars as I like, so control with no limits?
A: Simple answer is YES.

Q: Can I control multiple tanks in this case?
A: Yes you can.

I am sure you will have more questions and we will do our best to answer them for you, but one question will sadly not be answered if asked and that is release date, sorry!

This is a major leap forward in the controller market and will keep ProfiLux controllers where they are right now and that is market leaders building controllers Where Quality Has No Compomise.

We will keep you fully posted of all developments.

If you have any questions whether thinking of getting a ProfiLux or an existing user we will do our best to answer your questions.

This is great news.

ProfiLux is truly a World Class piece of equipment.

For those of us that do not upgrade our systems to PIII will our software still be maintained and updated.

I have been extremely impressed with the customer service that I have received from both Aquadigital and profilux retailers. I am certain that the focus on superior products and customer service will continue with the launch of yet another exciting profilux product.

bullit67 10-03-2008 07:58 AM

Awsome news I am in the process of upgrading my whole system right now and this will make a nice addition too it looking foward to the profilux III

Aqua-Digital 10-03-2008 11:53 AM

One thing GHL have been very cautious of when launching a new controller and that is making sure existing users benefit as much as new users buying the ProfiLux III as a whole.

To this extent anyone that purchases a ProfiLux Plus II EX now or already owns a profiLux plus II EX will get a sizeable rebate on the kit that also will be launched to turn the PII EX into a PIII.

If you are still only at PII level and not PII EX I would now start considering getting the upgrade to be ready for this next year

Patrick1 10-03-2008 04:16 PM

Also nice new website

Patrick1 10-03-2008 04:23 PM

Seeing how you guys are in the giving mode with this upgrade at major discounts. I was thinking it would be cool if you run a special like "Buy a Tunze cable for $20.00 and receive a free GHL Chiller of your choice free"

Aqua-Digital 10-03-2008 04:26 PM

Aqua-Digital 10-03-2008 04:28 PM

website still in development thats why it is sitting on the external server but should be finished soon, then you will see all the dealer, that will I am sure interest a few people

bullit67 10-03-2008 05:36 PM

So I have to upgrade my plus II to a plus II ex first ? If I do this will I still get a price brake for the Profilux III upgrade ?

Aqua-Digital 10-03-2008 05:39 PM

Yes 100% correct :)

bullit67 10-03-2008 05:49 PM

OK

So I take it I need the Profilux Extended Upgrade Kit is this correct?

Thanks for your time

Aqua-Digital 10-03-2008 05:53 PM

Yep :)

NOT the extended power bar, dont get confused ;)

mseepman 10-03-2008 05:55 PM

Just a note, when you click on the Aqua-digital logo on here, it takes you to a dead link...thought might want to know.

Aqua-Digital 10-03-2008 05:57 PM

yep site in constant update its the new site that has not been fully configured just as yet.

Thanks for the heads up though ;)

bullit67 10-03-2008 06:03 PM

KO
Yah I know it is not the power bar. So since the dealer I bought the profilux from is out of business who in B.C. is carrying the profilux line now I J&L had them for a while but no longer carries the profilux line. Or will I have to oeder it from a on line retailer. I would rather support a local store.

Oh by the way I sent a email from your web site asking the same question so you can disregard that if it is easier to answer here

Thanks again awsome service super fast replies

Doug

So after reading the RC thread. More info will be tricklying out for over a year. And the Profilux III is just in development at this stage? So asking detail type questions, at this time, can not be answered?

I'm just too excited LOL

J

Aqua-Digital 10-03-2008 06:33 PM

Please please ask any question you like other than release date, sorry that is not meant to sound ubrupt GHL just dont want to get caught in that trap of giving a date and then months passing by that just gives bad feeling to an excellent project

So please i ask all of you to give ideas and suggestions or any question you may have.

Hardware questions only at this stage as all software is already being implemented.

I will answer everything I can as quickly as ever ;)

Jason McK 10-03-2008 06:40 PM

Yes I know what can happen ones a release date is even thought about. LOL

As you know I'm very new to the profilux world. Not a lot of question so far as I'm still in awe of Profilux Plus II

Aqua-Digital 10-03-2008 06:42 PM

Give it time, you will have questions as you find out more and more what this sucker can really do :)

Reefmaster 10-17-2008 03:12 AM

just curious, where does a person get the english version of things like the firmware history - i see a new version was just posted but i can't read german to know what has changed :(

Jason McK 10-17-2008 03:21 AM

4.04
-Support for SMS Module
- errors in the programming of aqua illumination lights fixed

Google Translator :)

Reefmaster 10-17-2008 04:22 AM

ha google translator - of course.

SMS module - can someone advise what that is?

steve fedyk 10-17-2008 04:39 AM

Will proflux III be able to ramp tunze up and down in power, to make tieds. Low tied, high tied, and with seasonal tieds. Like the tidal currents found in inlets.
My plan is to put one pump on each side of the tank and run like they do in an inlet, with low, medium, and high tieds. Water levels in the tank will stay the same just the flow will incease and decease with tieds.
Is tunze wave box, easy to set up on a proflux?
How accurate are the dosing pumps, can you set them by volume or is it timed?
Thanks for your time

Aqua-Digital 10-17-2008 01:07 PM

wow many questions all in one day you all keep me busy

reefmaster - i will start copying over from RC the updates and what has changed so you can be kept fully informed.

SMS module - allows you to receive alarms, and tank parameters to your cell phone, in future also you will be able to change certian parameters or switch things on and off via sms text.

Steve - the ProfiLux plus II can do this now and control up to 8 pumps it can also control the Tunze wave box, you dont have to wait for the PIII to do this. This is one of the ProfiLux's strongest features

The dosing pumps are highly accurate and can dose on timed or event, the dosing rates are from 1ml/sec up to 60ml a minute or as low as 1ml in one event
