Fire???

Neal was that your house on the news that caught fire today??? sure looked like it.......If it was hope everyone/everything is ok

howdy20012002 04-09-2008 12:46 AM

yeppers
my house was on fire
everyone is ok.
my 77 gallon with my predator fish actually blewup and put out the fire.
I lost 3 fish.
all other tanks are stressed a bit but seem ok.
amazingly 2 were still alive lying in sand for 2 hours with no water after the tank blew up...triggers are tough little guys.
my house is pretty much trashed with smoke, fire and water damage.
not cool
but life goes on I guess.
this could set the store timings back a bit as there is alot of work that now needs to be done to my house.
does anyone have any experience with soot and smoke and fish tanks?
I am going to do water changes in all the tanks but they seem ok realy.
neal
and no, it wasn't caused by the dozen or so power bars...lol.
somehow the couch in my living room caught fire.

Joe Reefer 04-09-2008 12:49 AM

Holy Cow!:shocked!:Sorry to hear that Neal.

Matt 04-09-2008 12:57 AM

ElGuappo 04-09-2008 02:57 AM

digital-audiophile 04-09-2008 03:08 AM

Holy crap dude! Fire is always my greatest fear! Life is number one, as long as no one was hurt eveything else can be fixed.

michika 04-09-2008 03:46 AM

That really sucks! I hope everything pulls through and turns out alright.

fishoholic 04-09-2008 04:14 AM

Delphinus 04-09-2008 06:41 AM

 Wow, sorry man!!! That's really scary.

Very glad to hear you are OK!

Wish I was closer so I could offer something more substantial than words to help out!!

banditpowdercoat 04-09-2008 07:40 AM

Holly crap man, thats awefull. As a volunteer firefighter, have seen/put out my share. But its always worse when its yours fro sure. They say your couch is where it started? Do any in household smoke? If so, time to quit I think.

JOEL 04-10-2008 03:43 AM

That's not good, fortunately no one was hurt.

Lance 04-10-2008 03:51 AM

THAT SUCKS!!! I hope everything works out all right.

fishguyxd 04-11-2008 01:57 AM

OMG
Sorry to hear wow
may all go well getting all back together

supersmile 04-12-2008 04:00 PM

Oh my god Neil that is terrible. I never saw anything on the news. Glad to hear everyone is OK. The first thing I thought about wasn't the fish but Ginger your dog. I hope she is OK. Must have been really scary.

howdy20012002 04-12-2008 05:11 PM

I just want to say thanks for all of your words of support.
like a i said, minus a few fish, everyone is ok.
the bad thing is my whole house has to be completely stripped down to nothing left so they can clean the smoke and water damage.
sucks big time and will be like this for at least 3 months.
does anyone know anyone that has a trailer that doesn't use it and want to rent it out for a couple of months.
if so, get them to call me
thanks again for the support.
Neal
oh, btw, marine experience is closed until further notice...sorry

Snappy 04-12-2008 05:35 PM
