:P I sleep until 10am and go to bed around 3 or 4am. Late night snackes are actually pre-bed snacks for me!

Tell me more about these Teddy Grahams and Cream Cheese. Do you dip them?

Mmmm tiger prawns in spicy Thai peanut sauce, this shall be dinner tonight me thinks!

Der_Iron_Chef 02-26-2008 05:01 PM

Also....

A chunk of cream cheese covered in salsa...and eaten with tortilla chips. MM.

michika 02-26-2008 05:49 PM

Sounds like taco dip....I now have the munchies again!

I tried the teddy cookies and cream cheese....to die for...delicious, but very rich.

DanG 02-26-2008 06:52 PM

buy a meat dehydrator from london drugs and make your own dehydrated fruit, fruit rollups and beef jerky.

michika 02-26-2008 06:59 PM

Mmmm fruit! I live off the stuff...i think the cashiers at my local grocery store think I'm crazy.

fishoholic 02-26-2008 07:23 PM

I had the muchies on the way home from work last night and I picked up some nacho cheese bugles. The little horn shaped corn snacks.

michika 02-26-2008 07:24 PM

They still make bugles? Where would I find these?

I've seen them in safeway, save-on, superstore, wal-mart, zellers,
7-11, and most gas station convinence stores. Basically everywhere

Pier Pressure 02-26-2008 07:31 PM

You can still get Bugles just about anywhere. They come in several different flavours now, too. The snack section of any supermarket carries them.

digital-audiophile 02-26-2008 07:40 PM

I'm all about the goldfish crackers.

michika 02-26-2008 08:09 PM

I love the goldfish crackers!

Der_Iron_Chef 02-26-2008 08:10 PM

Lindt Dark Chocolate Truffles. Oooooooh baby.

hillbillyreefer 02-26-2008 11:57 PM

Buttered popcorn, not the microwave kind but oil popped. Seems pretty mundane for you guys though.

I make it all the time, I love it, but we go through a lot of popcorn.

SeaSerpant 02-27-2008 12:25 AM

spitz

Ephraim 02-27-2008 02:04 AM

I heard a rumor that Old Dutch Mexican Chilie Chips are back. Has anyone seen these around yet? Best potatoe chip there ever was!

hillbillyreefer 02-27-2008 02:27 AM

Yes they are back. My wife has been wanting them for years and found some on Sunday at the gas station in Coronation, Alberta.

Now she can quit whining about that one.

EmilyB 02-27-2008 06:41 AM

Glad you like the Teddy's and CC...

A baked apple tonite in the microwave, some cottage cheese with those fruit jelly guys mixed in... gotta keep it healthy this time of night...

Popcorn I love...some melted mozza/parmesan with barbeque spice thrown on...yummy

michika 02-27-2008 05:11 PM

Tell me more about this parmesan/mozza business with BBQ spice. It sounds appealing.

ElGuappo 02-27-2008 06:02 PM

The mexican chili chip comes back foar a couple mothes every couple years. used to know a delivery guy..

The best "Munchie " is however a mouthful of mike and ikes.

Der_Iron_Chef 02-27-2008 06:49 PM

  • extra sharp cheddar melted on crackers
  • peanut m&m's!
  • pita & hummus
  • those sweet & salty granola bars--damn.

Pier Pressure 02-27-2008 07:58 PM

I like to do Triscuit crackers with just about anything - my favourite is with sharp cheddar, hot peppers, black olives and green onions.

The crackers are great because you can just microwave the entire concoction to melt the topping but the crackers stay nice and crisp - better than tortilla chips!

If you add some meat to it (i.e. spicy ground beef) it becomes a meal that takes you less than half an hour to prepare.

ElGuappo 02-27-2008 08:40 PM

this thread is awsome my grocierie bill is going to double. might even get a dictionary aswell.

Keri 02-28-2008 06:59 AM

hot banana mushy goodness
(even the title fits the "munchies" category heh...)

Ingredients:
1 banana
small pinch of goodness ( example: 5 or 10 chocolate chips, teaspoon of peanut butter, dollop of honey...be creative)

take the banana and the goodness and mush together in microwave safe bowl.
Nuke for 30 seconds (or longer but careful it gets SMOKIN' hot REALLy fast....trust me, it's like napalm in your mouth lol)

enjoy :)

ElGuappo 02-28-2008 06:05 PM

Warmed Cheeze wiz and raspberry jam sandys. sound gross butis amazing.

michika 02-28-2008 06:16 PM

They still make cheese wiz? Wow, I did not know!

I'm thinking I will make a party mix or something, our house is constantly devoid of snack foods.

My grandmother used to make a banana dish, sliced banana in milk with a bit of sugar sprinkled on top. Delicious!
