Professional Installation for a 180-Gallon Salt Water Aquarium
This made me LOL.
bUrrrrrp!
Am I seeing the right thing? I see a time lapse video of berghia eating some aiptasia (ie. doesn't seem to match the title of this thread :) )
Sorry guys its fixed now.
Lol! This guy is a real winner.
OK...that was great for a morning chuckle.....I actually feel bad for the dumba$$.......
Is this guy for real?
Oi!
Unfrotunatley the big salt water tank that is set up at the childrens hosital has plastic plants and air stones. :( I wonder who set that one up. |
To paraphrase "leave it to the professionals as they'll do a better job", fake corals and silk plants?
so....a person hires a professional to come to your house to install a salt water tank....finishes then leaves....and now this homeowner is standing there looking at a tank and has no clue or limited clue as to what or how this thing works.....and lets face it.....professional really just means that he is paid to do this job......
Im pretty sure that most hobbyist know more then this guy......and then think how much money people have invested into their systems....they research the hell out of it to do it right.... funny how you can throw the word professional around and it just makes everything ok. |
I want to get one of those pumps that pull the water out of the overflow into the sump, wait a minute…. I think that’s best left for professionals.

"The water goes through plumbing... and then some more plumbing." :)
OK....you guys are making it funnier then it originally was...I have had to go back and watch it a few more times....lol
Designed to look exactly like their real counterparts in the ocean....lol. Thanks for the chuckle.
Man I like this site
Thanks for that laugh. If that is what professionals do I guess we are all doing it wrong. Everybody take your coral back to the store and turn off your tank until a professional comes and shows you how to pump water through your returns.
Hey where can I get some of those starter fish too? I didn't use any to get my nirtogen cycle going so perhaps I should do that now. Or am I too late? My tank has been going for a few years now, and I'd hate to think I don't have a nitrogen cycle in it.
I'd like to think we're more professional then that dumb***
Oh Man that's my problem. Unfortunately I've waisted all my money doing this myself I don't have any left to bring in the proffesionals. I'll bet they cost big $$. Oh well off to the dumpster with all my hobby junk....... He made me cry...
Remember to stop by to visit the fine folks at "Underwater Depot" for all your aquatic needs. <I can't believe I actually bothered to find their website> Their "one of a kind" aquariums on their site are every bit as fine as the video would suggest.
k, I'm just setting up my tank now (I know, stupid homeowner) and I'm wondering if I really need plumbing to suck the water out of my tank. If anyone knows a professional that might be able to answer this for me, I'd appreciate it. Thx.
plastic coral! crap on a stick, i knew i was doing SOMEthing wrong. i wonder if our dear professionals can ever save my little disaster of a reef. i think mine might be salvageable, but i know marc's reef must be a complete write-off...
I was wondering how overflows worked; had this weird notion of gravity on my mind. But I've been set straight thanks to the proffessional!

I'm don't agree with everything he said but I think he did an ok job considering the audience it was aimed at. |

I didn't think the vid was THAT bad, he had a pretty basic, general idea of what was going on.
But, professionalism was the key to that video. |

Up until the half way point I thought it was an ok job. Explaining to someone starting at absolute zero what all that plumbing does is tricky. If you go into too much detail you'll overload them and they won't retain anything you said. The rest of it was not so good. Starter fish, ugly ornaments, "I'm a professional PVC monkey" etc. Outrage might be a bit much though, there is much worse out there to be seen. |
