would this be overkill for a 10g tank?

I think that it would be a little much, the height of the tank may not let you use it anyways (as the skimmer would be taller then the tank, not allowing it to 'hang on' properly).

I used mine on a 33g, and then temperarly on my 75g before I upgraded to a bullet 2. Just my thoughts though....

If you dont have a sump and its hanging on your 10 it might look kinda wierd since its pretty long. But compared to most skimmers is still pretty compact. As to overkill it will probably keep your water really really clean but Ive never tried it on a 10 before. I am using it on a 55

I do not have a sump, and am currently using a Rio Nano Skimmer.. How tall is this skimmer?

marcingo 07-05-2007 05:39 PM

-Skimmer Height: 21.5"
-Minimum Tank Height: 12.75"
-Minimum Overhead Clearance for Proper Function: 6.75"
-Depth: 3.25"
-Width: 7.5"

i got one on a 10g. looks kindda funny cuz it's not really "Hang on back" it's more of a "sort of hang on back but sits on the stand". it still works fine though. pulls REALLY dark green skimmate. but to answer your question, it works, but don't expect it to litteraly hang on the back. the water return hangs so it doesn't tip back but the bottom of the skimmer sits on the desk/stand. i kind of prefer that since the skimmer holds a bunch of water and the idea of hanging that on thin glass sketches me out.

So does anyone want to buy this? I cant go much cheaper than this. Its cheap as it is.

marcingo 07-09-2007 06:29 PM
