I'm bored - random coral and fish
Fooling around taking a few pictures today and a couple turned out not too bad. I am a horrible picture taker but here they are:

Ruth that is some sexy pictures of the tank.. Love the purple fire fish there too. I used to hav ea lot of them in my 170 until they figured out that the top was open.
love the clams too |
Very nice!
Everything looks really pretty! |
Thanks Mike - I am really happy with the way this tank is turning out. I am getting pretty good growth - not spectacular - but good.
I used to have 6 firefish in there - 2 jumped and 2 just disappeared. The two that are left seem to be pretty good even though my tank is open top. The only other fish in there is a Mandarin so nothing to harrass them. They don't even seem to spook when I put my hand in the tank - and as you can see they love having their picture taken. |
Thanks Catherine - like I said this tank is turning out quite nicely. Just have to be prepared for summer when I will once again battle the heat I'm sure.

Lookin good Ruth! You've got some gorgeous blues in there
|
Ruth,
You have some sweet looking pieces that someday need to make it into my tank. How about a full tank shot. When you consider that you were in an sps re-build phase last Sept things are looking really great. If I didn't know that, I wouldn't know that. |
I second the full tank shot request!
|
Some very nice photos Ruth.
I have to agree with Christy.. you have some very nice blue pieces. |
Thanks guys and girls. This tank has been doing just so well I agree it is hard to believe that I lost all of my SPS coral last summer and fall. I think I am done for a while now (after my order from Mike get here).
Snappy - all you have to do is show up at my door with your snippers! A pleasant Sunday drive:mrgreen: Here is a fairly recent full tank shot - I think I took it a couple of weeks ago now. http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...lltank0407.jpg |
Very Nice pictures Ruth! You are definately getting better with your picture taking. Love the variety of SPS!
|
Its hard to believe that everything in your tank is effectively new.
I absolutely love the color of whatever that SPS is above and to the left of the firefish on the right! |
Very Nice Ruth,
I wish mine would hurry up and grow in like yours. How many purple firefish do you have in there ? Marc. |
Quote:
Thanks Marc I started out with 3 mated pairs of purple firefish - 1 pair must have decided to do the Romeo and Juliet routine as they were both found on the floor on the same morning. I then noticed that one other fish was very lethargic and it passed away. The remaining "pair" almost immediately began harrassing the lone single fish until it expired. I now have just the 2 firefish left and it is going to remain that way. They seem to prefer to swim around the middle to lower portion of the tank and are real picture hogs. |
Love the hot pink birdsnest. Exactly what I'd like to have in my new tank.
|
Lookin' good.

Hey Ruth, Very nice tank! I'm loving all your pieces!
What is this blue one on the right? It looks very very sweet! Quote:

Oh man you are asking the wrong person about coral names! I identify them as the pretty blue one or green one or yellow one or pink one or.......well you get the picture:mrgreen: .
That coral has been a very cooperative one in terms of coloring up and growth - so maybe "the pretty blue one that has gotten bluer and grows coral". Other than acropora I have no idea. But hey, thanks for the compliment! |
