Yikes..

What kind of anemone is that ?

Delphinus 02-09-2007 04:33 PM

:(

Moogled 02-09-2007 04:55 PM

That's horrible -- but it's also the first time I've seen a picture of something like that.

adidas 02-09-2007 04:57 PM

we had the anemone in the laundry sink with a couple fish...we transfered anemone over, then we thought the foxface jumped.. until we looked at the anemone!

we watched the anemone slurp down the whole fish in about 15mins! quite the site!

Der_Iron_Chef 02-09-2007 05:30 PM

Awww. Well, nature is a wondrous thing.

Thats my old pruple tip Seabae.

Something must have spooked the foxface into the anemone because I never had it eat any of my fish. Expensive meal!

OCDP 02-09-2007 06:33 PM

Damn, that's unfortunate. I had a feeling it was a sebae. Nice looking anemone.

Anyone know if there is a chance to save the fish when you see this? Or does the nematocysts of the anenome totaly kill the fish? I thought it was just a paralizer and the fish was still "technically" alive until its in the gut getting digested?

adidas 02-09-2007 08:44 PM

he was half way in already when i found him, no movement at all in the gills. :(

I was wondering where you purchased your aquarium? Does anyone know of a shop in Vancouver that sells Starfire glass tanks?
