Guess the song!!

Here is a few lines from a song. First person to guess it gets to post the next one.

P.S. Please don't cheat by plugging it into Google.

Quote:

But as the wind changed direction
The temple band took five
The crowd caught a wiff
Of that crazy Casbah jive

Cap'n 08-10-2006 06:28 AM

Sherif, he don't like it!
Rock the Casbah, Rock the Casbah

Great, that'll be stuck in my head all night. Could definitely be worse though.

Give me a few minutes for the next one...

Cap'n 08-10-2006 06:32 AM

But she just couldn't stay
She had to break away
Well New York City really has it all
Oh yeah, oh yeah

muck 08-10-2006 02:13 PM

hehe.. I guess that was too easy.

Chaloupa 08-10-2006 08:30 PM

Hey Muck-no that wasn't easy at all.....FUN THREAD! Cap'n song is by the Ramones - Sheena is a Punk Rocker

Here's the next challenge

Sweet bitter words
Unlike nothing I have heard
Sing along mocking bird
You don't affect me

Good luck!!! (it's a bit newer and heavier??!)

OCDP 08-10-2006 08:58 PM

It's a Korn song , right? I just can't think of the name of the song.

muck 08-10-2006 09:07 PM

muck 08-10-2006 09:51 PM

Its the second one.. by Lenny Kravitz.
Your up Squiddy.

Delphinus 08-10-2006 09:55 PM

Modesty, propriety can lead to notoriety
You could end up as the only one
Gentleness, sobriety are rare in this society
At night a candles brighter than the sun

Delphinus 08-10-2006 10:12 PM

Too subtle? Ok, hmmmm. How's about:

It's jack-of-all-trades Stan
And Jerry the garbage man
There they go
The boys are really rollin'
Some old lady called the cops
Said the car is probably stolen

.. this has to easier, yes?

Delphinus 08-10-2006 10:33 PM

Wow ... I think I hear crickets!

Chaloupa 08-10-2006 10:41 PM

That was tooo easy....Trooper Boys in the Bright White Sportscar (my old best friend and I changed it to "Girls in the bright white sportscar"!

There is still the first one Tony posted..

Midknight 08-10-2006 10:49 PM

Ok, that would be Sting - Englishman in New York.

Midknight 08-10-2006 10:52 PM

And now...

HuHuh! I was in the right!
Yes, absolutely in the right!
I certainly was in the right!
You was definitely in the right. That geezer was cruising for a
bruising!

Chaloupa 08-10-2006 10:52 PM

Sorry jumped in there....Pink Floyd? Can't remember the name of the tune and my husband is out.....

Don't you wanna ride it?
Educated Horses
Don't you wanna ride it?
Educated Horses

Chaloupa 08-10-2006 11:35 PM

K is it too hard? Here is the next line....

She who looks back, and she looks away,
She internalizes the motion wave.
She is the butcher,
She wants the air,
She hides the scars under her hair

Delphinus 08-10-2006 11:51 PM

Yeah ... I .... got nothing.. Does it get radio play? I'm afraid all the songs I know I only hear because I listen to the radio on the way to or from work.

Edit: Ok I cheated and googled it. Guess I can't play anymore  .. I can safely say I would never have been able to guess it. Someone else probably should be able to, the singer is reasonably well-known..

Chaloupa 08-11-2006 01:30 AM

This is the first line to add to the previous ones I put up...

He who gets slapped and he who gets saved,
He who brutalizes the timeless stage.
He is the mongrel, he wants it all,
He lives for relics, hang on the wall

It gets played ALOT on Sirius Radio #20 Octane channel....hmmm a hint is needed??? He goes by 2 names.....Rob or White.......good luck

muck 08-11-2006 01:32 AM

Rob Zombie.. just have no clue as to the song..

muck 08-11-2006 01:38 AM

Yellow matter custard, dripping from a dead dog's eye.
Crabalocker fishwife, pornographic priestess,
Boy, you been a naughty girl you let your knickers down.
I am the eggman, they are the eggmen.

...

AJ_77 08-11-2006 01:47 AM

Beatles? White Album? I am the Walrus? something like that...

OK -

"Down among the reeds and rushes
A baby boy was born
His eyes as clear as centuries
His silky hair was brown"
...

muck 08-11-2006 01:48 AM

That didn't take long..

Your up Alan.

Chaloupa 08-11-2006 02:03 AM

muck 08-11-2006 02:33 AM

I'll give you a taste of what Im into.

Goin' down to the river now, mind flood's got my head in the gutter
Will it wash us all away?
You come to with a shiver now,
Flash back eighth grade with a stutter
Will it wash us all away?

Gee, I listen to any type of music but know none of these:(

Chaloupa 08-11-2006 05:23 AM

I listen to quite a variety too (but I do love some of the heavier stuff and some of the classic rock like AC/DC etc etc...but then who doesn't love AC/DC!!!?) and some of them were completely unknown to me and they are common songs. At least the thread keeps ya thinking!
