Any one out their a big music buff? What kind of music are you all into.. any favorite artist or bands?

I'm into all types of music. I Just picked up the new David bowie "heathen" as well as Travis "the invisible band", Nora Jones "come away with me". All three are good, but the most listen to so far is Travis.

Big music buff here,

Im a little more hard core than most...Newer heavy bands being Disturbed, Papa roach, ICP and Godsmack being my top ones.

Older bands being Metallica (newest stuff),Nazerath,Soundgarden, Alice in chains and House of pain.

In the lighter catagory (for me ;) ) is Limp bizkit,Creed and Nickelback.

Older lighter rock that i like would be Fleetwood mac,Bad company,Journey and ZZtop.

Easy listening for me would be Destiny`s Child (yummm),shaggy, Puddle of mud, hoovastank, Blue Cantrell, All Saints, Aleaya (sp?).

I get very severe allergic reactions to Bubble gum crap, such as Brittney Spears,Christina agulera but you get the point ;) .
(Shhhh...dont tell my Daughter i said that)

Think ill head into the shop right now and Crank some up ! :D .

Hi,

I am a big music fan too. I think that addiction is even more expensive than my reef addiction

My work music (i.e. music used to block/neutralize high stress work environment) is trance and eurodance. My favourites include Delirium, Faithless, Ayla, ATB, Paul Oakenfold, Paul Van Dyk and those eurodance hits (gotta love those...Aqua, ATC and etc).

But at home, it is a more classical/calmer music...like Yo Yo Ma, Enya, Celine Dion, Madonna , Kenny G and etc. On weekends, more pop tunes like U2, Nickelback, Bachelor Girl and etc.

In general, I like music that is well recorded. I like Madonna and Celine Dion CDs because they are well recorded. It sounds like Celine is singing in my living room. Christina Agulera CD...now that 's a horrible CD...it sounds like Christina (and the band) are singing in the bathroom and I am listening to in my living room.

- Victor.

Wow 2 completly difrent styles in music there. Hey Marc, i have the Godsmack album with "voodoo" on it. i think its self tittled. I listen to it a fair amount. I never did get that much into sound garden though.

Victor, i agree with the mellow music... when i get home from work i need something a little more calming. I had the delirum album Poem ( the dubble disk eddition) untill it was stolen out of my car. i thought it was a well recorded album.

Any one eles out their?

I like a pretty wide variety of music. I like older country music like Waylon and Willie, Hank Jr., Johnny Cash. I like the Beatles, Stones, Zeppelin and the Who. I like CSN and especially Y, I like Dylan and Simon and Garfunkle and the Cars. I like SRV, Clapton, Beck and Page and Jimi is alright too ;) . I like Queen, the King, Yes and Rush. Neil Diamond, John Denver and Jerry Lee Lewis. B.B. King, Ben E. King, Albert King are all pretty good. John Lee Hooker, Robert Johnson, Willie Dixon, Elmore James, Robert Cray all sound good. Sheryl Crow, Sarah McLachlan, Joni Mitchell, Holly Cole, Metallica and Jewel. Bif Naked, Mollies Revenge, Pearl Jam, Nirvanna, Jane's Addiction and Strauss. Beethoven, Chopin, Bach, Mozart and the Beach Boys. Jesse Cook is fantastic too! Oh and the Pretenders and the Animals and Pink Floyd oh oh and ......... Charlotte Church and Nancy Sinatra and Donovan and Mamas and the Papas. I'm not real big on a lot of the Rap or that techno sound or a lot of the eighties stuff like Wham, Duran Duran etc. Oh and Britney rocks!

I am a huge music buff but there is very little new music I end up liking as it seams that it is all the same or realy not that good.. IMHO that is.. for new bands I like Incubus, Nickelback, Limestone, Trebel charger and some others.. I also like new country just as much (probably from the begining of Dwight Yokum's time to present) the old stuff I got sick of when I was growing up as it is all you could listen to on CFCW in alberta :D

I have an eclectic selection of music. I like everyting from Saliva, Dry Kill Logic, Puddle of Mud, Stabilo Boss (I really like "Everybody"), and STP, to INXS, Third Eye Blind, Tchaikovsky, Me First & The Gimmie Gimmies, and even Aqua (when I'm working out, riding, or running).

But absolutely NO Country - that shtuff is only good for one thing: watching the videos! ;)

A better question may have been; how could anyone listen to them?

Personally, I hated the hair bands almost as much as the rest of the 80's stuff but that's why they have different music. Night Ranger? Steve you're scaring me man.

I can't believe no one mentioned R.E.M. or Chilli Peppers

I have another list to share; bands or individuals that make me want to stick sharp heated objects into my ears when I hear them. Some of them make me want to poke my eyes out with dirty sticks too.

Supertramp, most Hair bands of the 80's (sorry Steve), Supertramp, quite a bit of the 70's "heavy metal", Supertramp, Celine Dion (beautiful voice but watching her makes me wanna smack her), Supertramp, anything after about 72' for David Bowie, Supertramp, most of the bands today, Supertramp, techno, Supertramp, all that cross gendered crap like Culture Club and Wham, Supertramp, all those boy bands and Supertramp. Oh and Supertramp, new Rush and Supertramp.

Did I mention Supertramp?

I love Musac. Wherever you go you hear it. It’s the sound of being on hold. It’s the feeling of free falling while in an elevator. It reminds me that I don’t like shopping.

What other sound reminds you of something you like, but you just can’t put your finger on what it is.
