Thanks, Snappy
Mike, Mines a maxima. I was talking with the wife about this one the other day when psuedo as me were I got it from. We couldn't remember but figured I've had it for 8 years which may explain why I havn't a clue where I got it from. :) |
Yeah I just don't see them like that in the stores around Calgary. In fact in this last year the clams available here seem to be consistently less colourful.
That said Muck's clam has some pretty cool markings as well. Maybe my timing at the stores is off. |
For those that havn't seen this picture. Here it is spawning about 3 years or so ago.

T. crocea http://members.shaw.ca/hobiesailor/a...ceafromtop.jpg T. squamosa (note the 2" conch in the lower right corner for a size reference!) http://members.shaw.ca/hobiesailor/a...osafromtop.jpg |
Wow, Tony! I missed those when I was there last.

I hope you can forgive me for posting repeats, but I forgot I had these online, just came across them right now and thought, hey, what the heck. These aren't mine, these shots are from Moody Gardens in Galveston back in March.
