Aquasafe RO/DI units

Which model is everyone buying? Tank or tankless?
Are you getting a inline TDS meter from the same place?

I'm using the home plus unit with the tank.

There's one in the Bargain finder right now Walter.

Not sure what type it is, but maybe you want to check it out?

I purchased the home unit 75gpd with tank almost two years ago. I picked up a handheld TDS meter from them along with a box of replacement filters (3 years supply)

So far so good.

Home plus with tank. The tank takes up space but it gives you a quick shot of water for smaller water changes or for instant use.

Tank is made of stainless steel right? If that is the case I would get the model without the tank. I think it is called the aquarium system. I didn't want anything metal storing my water. I just got mine in the mail, haven't hooked it up yet.

rickjames 04-10-2005 09:19 PM

Whoops! I was wrong, the tank has a plastic liner, so I guess it would be handy!

Thanks everyone... I guess I'll get the model with the tank...

I have the model without the tank, that way i can connect it to an float valve in my top off tub.

robzilla 04-11-2005 03:10 AM

i bought the tankless model, i run the filter and fill up a 5 gallon container from the grocery store water. this gives me a few days of water handy...

Stainless maybe, but theres a bladder and a liner in there for sure.

The TDS readings from the water in my tank still remain at zero.

You can still connect an auto top off to the home plus unit.

And when you put a Tee in the line you have a tap and an auto top off!(And reserve water for whatever you want.)

I just ordered the tankless model that comes with a free tds meter. I too will be filling a 5 gallon water jug, you can buy little hand pumps for them for quick access to your water. Are you buying through Ebay?

whaase 04-11-2005 04:40 PM

Yup, same place you just ordered from. How did you get a free TDS? They advertise a free PSI meter..?

The PSI meter is just as useful as the TDS meter. It's the only piece of equipment that tells you what's going on within your ro/di unit. You'll be happy you got it. You can get an inline TDS meter with dual readings for input/output for about 45.00CAD. They use John Guest connectors, so it'll take you literally 1 minute to install it.

I wrote him asking if I can switch the PSI or a TDS (same price)... will see.

Walter,
Don't be offended if you get some kind of quirky or snippy reply. Sometimes, I think Ed is a hermit.
Hopefully Kassandra will answer your email.

If I would have noticed my error right away I would have tried but they have probly shipped mine already.
