Wow, that looks *way* bigger than a 25 gallon.
Nice stocking and aquascaping. |

Nice pics, How long have you had the tangs in there.
|
The tank looks really nice! Are your clown(s) hosting the RBTA?
Whats your plan for the tangs? Looks to me like a perfect excuse for a bigger tank!! |
What is the fish in picture #2 (the one labelled your "other favourite")?

Your tank is looking very nice. What other equipment are you running on there such as a skimmer? What are you growing in your fuge? Do you drip kalk? Just curious what some of your success components are :)
Keep up the good work. BTW, I agree with the others, it looks much bigger than a 27 in those pics. |
Sweet tank indeed  and great pics
It's funny everyone say's the same about my 27gl too  One of my favs is my green frogspawn too, maybe cause I have fragged, sold, or traded it so many times that it's paid for lot's of other goodies. The 27Club is starting to grow  |
Nice tank shots Marcus.
Brad, it's not a hi fin red banded goby, it's a yellow headed or pearly jawfish with pieces of macro in front of it  I have a pair in my seahorse tank & as Tony the Tiger would say, "They'rrrrrrrre GREAT!!!! Anthony |
Ok .. thanks. I thought I was losing my mind or something. I was thinking, "That looks EXACTLY like a yellow headed jawfish but I've never seen markings like that!" It didn't occur to me at all there was something in front of it.
Anyhow, thanks for the info!! PS. Dang Ryan, when I look at that link you posted, I'm amazed how similar it looks. That's a pretty cool fish too! |
Wow that is a very similar looking fish  Beauty tooo!!! Now I know what's my next fish going to be
Anthony |
Hahah not a Pearly Jawfish. It is actualy a shrimp goby. hahah A red banded or yellow-nose shrimp goby Muck has the exact fish there in that url. We are talking aobut the fish under the regal tang are we not.
|
Really Ryan  :drinking:  I talk to Marcus regularly & I even told him where to buy this fish after he saw my posted pic of one from my tank so I guess it must have morphed since the weekend, eh
It's a Pearly Jawfish (Opistognathus aurifrons) and we both bought ours from King Ed's Pets for $25 each. Getting back to the thread, Marcus, it's time for a bigger tank don'tcha think:razz: Anthony |
Those Pics dont do the tank justice, should see in person, amazing colouration, hes getting some amazing colours out of his acros and they are under PC lighting.

looks great sir, congrats!

Answers to all. . .
Hey all! Just to answer a few questions on this thread . . .
My tangs are about a year and 2 months old My skimmer is an aquac remora (this is the only type of filter I have running in this tank). . . I have a 12 gal fuge that serves as a frag farm and I have some grape caulerpa down there (Tank is split in two at the bottom) my lighting at the bottom is a 4x 1 footer T5's 2 actinic 2 10000k No I don't drip kalk (I just buy those bottles . . . I use reef complete, iodide and dt's phyto plankton . . . simple as that) No my clowns don't even go near that rose bubble tip . . . (I thought they would!) But they love the anthelia . . . thats where they are currently residing. . . And as for the fish . . . that is most definately a HI FIN red banded goby . . Besides . . . I think I know what I buy before I buy them. . . my yellow head jawfish is not in the picture . . . (although if you look at the tang pic you can see the jawfish's reflection on the left) Hopefully I'L upgrade to a 72 or 77 gallon or a 130 and up gallon when I have my own place!! Thanks for reading! |
Maybe on the frog
How do you like those T5's, been thinking myself of the upgrade. |
T5's
T5's are great but if your thinking of upgrading I think paul has those High output T5's now . . . but like that saying . . . "if its not broken. . don't fix it" . .
Your frogspawn is what drove me into collecting different colors! They look so cool! . . . weird thing is sometimes I find both of my clowns playing in it! . . . How big is your frog spawn now??? PS. what frags do you supply paul?? (He gets his anthelia/ green star polyps and some button polyps from me) |
You have PM
|
Yes, it is definitely not a jawfish.
Its a Stonogobiops Nematodes prawn goby. They are very nervous and wimpy fish. I think they feel most comfortable when there's a symbiotic shrimp around. http://www.canreef.com/phpBB2/viewto...=116520#116520 Pet Gallery has several goby/shrimp pairs at this time: http://www.canreef.com/phpBB2/viewto...ight=nematodes |
Look at the dorsal fin it comes to a point. Pearly Jawfish dorsal fins is round. Main indicator. I told you Seahorse. Should have listened.
