Cleaner Shrimp cleaning Wrasse's hole!

Just watched my cleaner shrimp going down on my leopard wrasse. The fish was just settling down when the shrimp flipped it over & started "cleaning" it. What was so unusual was that it was sticking its tiny claws into the wrasse's hole & pulling out wrasse poop for a snack.

"YUCK!"

Now that's an impatient shrimp. Can't even wait for the fish to poop but has to go digging for the "gold".

Sorry, no pics but just thought I'd share my observations :lol:

The wrasse took it for about 15 sec, then booted it out of there.

It sounds to me like you don't have a cleaner shrimp but the harder to find colorectal surgeon shrimp.

I think you might have a problem there. Shrimp are messed up anyhow, but you could have a wrasse with some kind of weird fettish on your hands.

Maybe someone here could hook your wrasse with some counselling. :lol:
