has your water level dropped in the tank?
|
ummm....yeah everyday I add about a gallon every 3 days...it has never come close to dropping to the level of the rocks... if thats where your going

Any hermit crabs? Mine always seem to feast on coraline algae.

IMO its the new lights. I just upgraded my lighting and noticed some coraline loss on some rocks, aswell as some mild bleaching of corals. It should grow back in time. If I was smart I would have reduced my photo period, and over time gradually increased it again rather than subject everything in my tank to such intense lighting all at once.

You got the rock from Dez, correct?
Was the rock in his sump? Not sure what lighting he has on that... Check with him, but it does sound like a light amount change. Too much too fast maybe...? |
Yeah it was in his sump I don't think the lighting was the best ....thats what it probably is......so it will turn purple again??
|
It should purple up again as the tank matures.

Sounds like the lights are the cause of the bleeching. Minor bleeching happened to me when I bought some rock from Des (under 192 watts of pc lighting). Then I got some major bleeching when I switch to 2x175watts of MH lighting. After a couple of months, everything is starting to turn purple again.
