Ecotech Radion G4 - Radion reinvented!

Hello everyone,

We are pleased to announce the NEW Radion G4!

http://www.reefsupplies.ca/online-st...on-G4-main.jpg

The Ecotech Marine Radion G4 is here!

The newest generation of Radion is ready for purchase! The best aquarium LED light in the world just got better. Simply put, the G4 Radion the best thing since the G3 Radion!

More Color

The Radion G4 features a whole new cluster. The re-balancing of proven colors combined with the addition of warm white and violet takes color rendition for your corals to the next level. Reconfiguration of the clusters compliments the all-new HEI lenses to deliver balanced color mixing better than ever before.

More Coverage

The HEI lenses on the G4 deliver more usable light area. This is accomplished by spreading light that would normally create an area of high PAR directly under the LED fixture and redirecting it to a significantly wider optimal area of intensity for coral health and growth. This will reduce shadowing in the aquarium as well as increase usable space for coral at all depths.

More Control

More colors means more channels. The G4, like its predecessors, will be instantly recognized by EcoSmart Live and can be added to an existing or new ESL account either through USB or with the Reeflink. *Channel control is updated to match the new clusters and includes Violet and Warm White.
*G4 PRO models only

This is becoming a little like I-phone.
I wonder if milliepora will grow under these lights .
The price point is almost the same as GHL leds

Ryancw 08-15-2016 10:26 PM

Unimpressed. For the outrageous price point these will likely be sold at and they still aren't wifi enabled blows my mind. Competition has went that route and doesn't ecotech even have partial ownership in AI?

Reeflink should be phased out with the introduction of a new light in my mind. The above post is exactly what I thought.... reminds me of apple products and why I no longer waste my money on them.

e46er 08-15-2016 11:49 PM

Jesus I thought $850 was steep but $1100 plus tax ???

Bugger 08-16-2016 12:38 AM

I still want it though.
Just think uv chips new heat sink 190 watts total power
and the coverage the coverage baby.

Wonder if the Ecotech <> Neptune spat will continue with this release (WXM support) ?

This sums it up for me. Even the cheapo chinese black boxes come with wifi nowadays. Why doesn't a $1000+ high end lights still lack such a simple feature.

Because they need to sell off the stockpile of Reeflinks first and then they'll introduce the G4 2.0 with wifi for another 100 bones

Did somebody say iPhone 6 plus....The new and unimproved. What they should have done is released the g4 in a xr15, xr30 and ***xr60 with 4 clusters and similar dimensions and coverage as a maxspect r420r so consumers dont need 4 and 5 individual fixtures. Add these gimmicky optics, power borrowing like in the AI hd fixtures (because who uses a full spectrum at 100%) and wifi capability with an app for free in the app store. I'd be all over that.

I have Vortechs and I like them a lot but I was kinda miffed I needed to spend another 75 per powerhead for wireless to be able to sync them, and then another 150 for Reeflink just to be able to set them on a schedule. I mean most people mount the drivers inches apart so why not let them talk to each other with a $10 cable like Tunze does? It's just nickel and diming. AI can put a wifi setup in a $250 light without an issue...

I guess the jury is out but it seems to me the AP700 is a better deal for coverage at this price point.

Don't worry Ray once the dust settles and the air clears they will come to there sense. And the nay sayers will come kneeling before thee saying please let us buy that new light please we beg of thee. Because there is nothing better and nothing compars to it. It is the gold standard. It is a legend Lets just hope this thing can grow millipora

Reef Supplies 08-17-2016 03:37 PM

tell us how you really feel :-)

I don't think they are overpriced.

We are talking about the latest and greatest here and when looking at the Xr30 Pro, its only $100 more than the G3 Pro. The extra $100 is well spent.

Its true, that not everyone has $1100 to dump on a single module. Its for this reason they offer the XR30 non pro and Xr15. You can get into an XR15 Pro G4for $559. Not bad considering all the features.

Pricing in general is up folks. The USD has 30 points on us, so it's expected that we will pay a surplus. 99% of all our products are priced at USD x 1.3, in fact, we even have some product lines priced at 1.25 because the margins are better.

Thanks,

Ray

That's what banks can get the currency for, it doesn't include the exchange fees for consumers. Currently about $1.287 to buy a US dollar.

1.20? In our dreams. Here are the last 15 times we bought USD
1.3315
1.3075
1.3075
1.314
1.3195
1.2825
1.3015
1.3045
1.306
1.312
1.3135
1.2999
1.2990
1.2910

And we get preferred rates because we buy 5 figures at a time.

We bought yesterday at 1.2894, if any tom dick or harry buys from the bank teller, you would have paid 1.3119. If you buy from a US site, your Visa will add another 4-5% on top of that.

So yeah, wayyyyyyy off 1.20 :-)

Its a thread about the light but all you guys ever care about is the stupid exchange rate lol.

The light needs to progress past wide angle and tir lense it clearly was not working to keep acropora or at least certain strains of it alive. Any early adopters willing to try it out on milllipora? Let us know

Aqua-Digital 08-19-2016 05:25 PM

As always the rate of sales prove the popularity!

Aqua Digital Inc (ok we do supply a major share of the Canadian market) PRE SOLD to dealers 60+ units and growing (dealers rarely carry high value inventory without a likely order.)

There will always be negativity more so on a Reef Forum, heck thats what they are for?
