Do you name your fish?
|
Not all of them but most they have:))
|
Think I already replied on your youtube video but my tiger pistol shrimp is very trigger happy so his name is pewpewpew and my candy cane shrimp is named gratata. My banggai pair each came from J&L and King Ed so one of them is Jay and the other is Ed. Other fish don't have names. Too hard to name everyone haha
When I have to point out different fish to my girlfriend or family they just go by their appearance. Purple fish (orchid dottyback), blue fish (springer's damsel), ugly (lawnmower blenny), the pretty one (firefish) and so on  |
Just the ones that ****s me off

Onyx Clowns are Thing One and Thing Two Panamic Barnacle Blennies are Streaker and Flash Pajama Cardinal is Redeye Pintail Wrasse is blind in one eye so his name is Piraté (pronounced Pee-rot-ay because he's fancy lol) Cleaner Shrimp is Frank Yellow Coris is Snoopy Tomini is Skipper Jawfish are Fiesty and Fierce Royal Gramma is Margaret |
I love it! Keep the names coming :)

Anytime I named anything whether it be a crab, snail, fish or shrimp it dies. It's a curse I swear!
Needless to say "fishy" is about as close as I will get these days. |
I used to name mine.
But they never came when called, so whats the use. I no longer name them |

So....um....yes. Actually my wife did most of the naming: Yellow tang= Woo tang (hers) Powder Blue tang = Saxman (if anyone gets this name they're alright with me) Anthias harem = Hugh and the bunnies lol (hers) Brittle star = Peanut (hers) Pajama cardinal = Jamas (hers) My chromis and clowns don't have names. |
Churchill
I named my very first fish, a Watchman Goby, Churchill because he looked like Winston Churchill.
He died at ripe old age of 11 years at which time he looked even more like his namesake. He also lived up to his name. He survived that horrendous blackout that almost destroyed Stanley Park. When the tank came back up to temperature he came out from underneath the rocks unscathed. He was a wonderful fish and I miss him. AquaAddict |
I named my first gold fish I ever got when I was six. Never bothered after that though, since they don't come when I call them anyway.
|
I don't name fish right away. Usually after a period of time, like over a year or more for some reason.
These ones are pretty obvious (have had them for about ten years now?).. Dory Nemo & Marlin. Bubbles. Maybe not as obvious.. Purple Tang -> Rain Powder Blue Tang -> Seabiscuit. Borbonius Anthias -> Dino Boxfish -> Spot. Flame Angel -> Scarlet 4 Stripe damsel -> Zigby Purple pseudochromis -> Magenta. Pink urchin -> Spike. Leopard Wrasse -> Leo. Melanarus Wrasse - Mel. The rest of my fish don't have names yet. |
