Never enough polls, this one's about DOSERS!

I am in the market for a dosing system.
Please vote on the option you are using. Vendors are encouraged to vote as well.
Also, please leave a comment if you are HAPPY or NOT HAPPY with the overall reliability of the doser you are using.
I have read all the reviews, threads here and elsewhere, just interested in seeing what the majority of Canreefers are using.

Ca reactor. You missed that in your poll :)

Lol, unfortunately I don't have room for a Ca reactor.

I actually just laughed out loud.

Aquattro 08-14-2014 02:31 AM

I actually built enough room for it in the stand, just not enough room to get it in the stand after the sump was installed. Now I'm building a matching cabinet for it.

Hey, you plan things the same as me, go figure ...

gregzz4 08-14-2014 02:38 AM

You didn't allow for multiple choice;

I use a pair of BRS 1.1mL units, and a Schlobster 1.1mL for Mag

Oh, I can play that game

Just ask me how many times I re-built my sump, or re-configured my chiller venting

Plans are in head; not on paper
Plug away until it looks OK
Rip it apart and try again, over and over
Plug it in, let it run
Nope
Do it over, and over .... and over

That's my reefing DIY planning and experience

Now here is a serious dosing system!

other - dual head Cole-Parmer. It meters the amount, just need a controller the say when.

Madreefer 08-14-2014 12:26 PM

Other-calcium reactor

daplatapus 08-15-2014 04:18 AM

I use my calcium reactor for CA and alk. I use the BRS 1.1ml doser for my mag. I used to use 2 more for the Ca and alk, but the tank started consuming more than I wanted to buy, lol, hence the shift to the reactor.
Those pumps are rock solid, but I'd recommend always having a couple spare tubes on hand.

Aquatronica. Been running like a champ for 8 years now with my aquatronica controller. Don't know what I'll do when it craps out.

The Guy 08-15-2014 10:30 PM

I use 2 BRS 1.1 ml dosers for ca &alk and keep it real simple with 2 digital wall timers with battery backup. I tune up my mg level when I do my water changes every 2 weeks.

riceboy 08-31-2014 04:39 PM

Been using the bubble magnus with extend slave so 7dosing in total. I have been using it for 1.5 years now with no prob and use it to dose zeo along with 2 part.

I just ordered the jebao doser. Its fairly new and the reviews seem good and you cant beat the price. $120 and it has 4 pumps.

Where did you get it for $120?

Fish-street.com $120 plus $7 for shipping and it comes with a free holder for the tubes

How is shipping that cheap? I was on there yesterday looking at a couple pre-filters and dosing containers and the shipping was $67.

Weird.

Thanks,

Ron

Ya I noticed that too, shipping for the doser alone was $7.88 but if you add anything else it jumps to a rediculous amount.

I might have to check that doser out; I think I'll get it from Pets and Ponds though, probably easier to deal with if there are any warranty issues.

I contacted pets and ponds and they wont have the new version (d1.1) for at least another month. There is a hardware and software update on the new ones.

Thanks, I was unaware of that.

Anyone ever seen an ARKA doser available in NA?

Liquid bottle sizes are probably too small for some but the built in magnetic stirrers are too cool.

jordsyke 09-02-2014 03:34 PM

I have jebao doser from fish street! It is my first doser so I dont know how accurate it is but it is really simple ot install. One problem I found with one of the pumps was that it would siphon chemical back so I just put $1.50 check valves on the end. The dosing pump came with a dosing tube holder aswell so that was nice :D
