Skimmer suggestion

Good morning everyone,
I just discover yesterday that the acrylic of my DIY skimmer has a crack. Now knowing how old and brittle this thing is .. I won’t even contemplate fixing it. Looking to buy a new one

Can anyone suggest a great skimmer?

The tank is 150 gl reef tank with a moderate fish load and I must add I have no room in the sump for additional equipment.

Thanks

I had a tunze skimmer that was very simple and worked great. They're pretty expensive but robust. Now I have a Red Sea C-skim which is working well but is much more finickey to dial in with up to 3 nobs to turn! That's all I know!

Was going to suggest a vertex Omega 150 which is what I'm going to use on my new 120. But it's an in sump skimmer with a 11" x 8" or so footprint.

Are you looking for an internal skimmer or an external skimmer?

might be premature as not sure if my current needs replacing (sedra 5000 just started rattling) but tagging along for suggestions (145g moderate fish, hoping to get back into SPS, internal)

Getting a larger sump is not really an option for us. (already 65 gallon)

So the skimmer would have to be external definitely.

Lots a rock + my refugium... I guess I could probably create a longer bigger sump by using the glass off my old 150 gallon currently sitting on my front lawn.

The neighbours are starting to look at me funny :)

A good skimmer will be more beneficial than a refugium and IMO liverock in a sump just collects detritus and does more harm than good
