Tiff's 99 problem tank build
99 gallon tank.
Concepts custom built tank. 48X24x20 display with a partial coast to coast overflow 2 return holes 2 drains. 44x24x16 sump , 2x 4" filter socks , skimmer and reactor department , refu .ato 48x27x30 custom built aluminum stand by me :) Idea for this tank is mostly LPS large sand bed garden and zoa filled rocks with few different kinds of bird nest at the top |
Still have lots to do , but the sides and doors on the stand and plumb the tank . Maybe make a canopy

Bought a few things over the week or two for the tank .
New refractometer Ato Wp25's 220gallons worth of salt Few new frags Problem #5 the pump I ordered two weeks ago , is not coming got the call today saying they don't stock them . Looking at the Diablo DC pumps now . |
Very nice. What light are you planning on running. I love the large sump gives you plent of room to put reactors and should be easy to clean the sediments.

Well the plumbing is almost done and the side panels and doors are almost finished .
Tank should be ready to fill by tonight if I find check valves ! Pictures coming soon :) |

The tank is wet ! , well 10% full lol .
Bought a gate valve and a few unions off Denny yesterday . Glued the union on without the nut . Ya spent three hours with a screw driver and hammer . Union was destroyed but my 20$ gate valve made it :) . All plumbed . Problem #6 - no 1" gate valves . Solution - reduce to 3/4 Problem #7 - glue union on without putting nut on . Solution - chisel glued union off while everyone tells you to give up . I also went out and bought a 200$ Lego red five x-wing star fighter plane for the top of my canopy :) nerds rule |

Start with the base , my boyfriend plumbed the top of the tank and I plumbed the bottom . Update!
So my boy bought me 70lbs of pink sand for Valentine's day . Finally came in so added that tonight. Still cloudy but clearing fast. Its the same colored sand with purple/pink tiny rocks in it. Love it! Two days ago added a sailfin tang . He is loving his new home . Accept today it was stressful. Put fish in sump , did my first water change , added the sand , let it clear up a bit. Add fish back. Tomorrow il be adding a few corals that are getting beat around in the holding tank. (Catch them stupid crabs and put them in the sump) peace and love <3 |

He was swimming around fine , got swollen cloudy eye two days ago . Well if you seen my other post I lost my tank in a bad accident and slowly putting it back together .
Sadly I lost my cowfish in the disaster but I thank everyone who helped me out and did there best ! Last week I added my clean up crew . 8 snails and 2 different coloured tuxedo urchins . Today I purchased two baby Hawaiian snowflake eels<3 Meet George and Sally http://i945.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps20574384.jpg There not currently in the tank because I have to add sand this week and start making caves <3 very excited |
I got 80lbs of sand on the way thanks to concepts ordering me some.
Pick up tomorrow hopefully , then give a day or two to settle and picking up my two baby snowflakes !! And my other fish from concepts :) and frags Way to excited to have my tank running again .. Going to miss my cow so on the hunt for a baby cowfish I added a long tenticle purple anemone today ( kinda early but if I keep things well he should do fine ) My urchins are motoring around I love them ! |
I seen 2 really nice baby cow's at golds the other day . Both looked pretty healthy, there is also a nice medium cow at ocean creations.

The rock had been removed and placed in water for a week .
I drained the tank , cleaned it and refilled , added the live rock 4 weeks ago. And ran harsh carbon . Cycle is over , adding sand bed today ! Then qt my fish for two weeks in tank transfer so I get rid of the ich I had previously . Water tested good , urchins doing well , left over corals on rocks that made it are growing . On a good note , no more pest anomones and I can get rid of the ich easy |
Well the qt is up and running for tank transfer method .
My two snowflakes and powder blue are drifting in the bucket waiting to go in ! |
The water in the bucket is getting kinda dirty , so im setting up a new one , including pick up day was three days I guess!
