Thats part of the fun... looking them up and discovering new music, regardless of genre. (I find it hard to place half the artists into a specific genre nowadays anyways.)

Nirvana - unplugged in New York
Homemade mixed cd

Delphinus 12-31-2008 06:47 AM

Hmmm I have a hard time picking albums. Although I can probably easily rattle off artists and then maybe specific tracks but entire albums ... toughie.

Couple faves -

Ok for something reasonably newish, Viva la Vida by Coldplay. Yeah yeah say what you want about plagiarism and whatever. I hear the similarities with the other songs, I think it's entirely possible that two people can independently come up with similar sounding musical phrases and it not be anything other than a coincidence. Attaching labels like "guilty" or "not guilty" depends on who are you a bigger fan of because we can't get inside these people head's .. only guess at their motives. But nevertheless many of the tracks give me goosebumps.

Uh .. about something from Bowie. Black Tie White Noise.

Think I'll sleep on it before naming #3.

Good grief man, now isn't that an uplifting little ray of hopeful sunshine telling me that there's still lots of things to hold out hope for humanity. Jiminy!! I need to go listen to Gary Jules's cover of "Mad World" now JUST SO I CAN CHEER UP A LITTLE BIT.

Lydia 12-31-2008 06:57 AM

Pink Floyd - Meddle
Kashtin - Akua Tuta
Enya - Watermark

These CDs are never far from the top of the stack - they are good 'fish tank cleaning' music :)

Same here..., well, not 27 but I have been to 5 Shambhalas and he is the king of shambhala.
I have also seen him 10 times outside of Canadas best outdoor party as well.
Most recently with Matt the Alien and Z-Trip, which was INCREDIBLE...

Good to know someone else here appreciates Lorin
Also, Glitchy and Scratchy are 2 friends of mine who I regularly attend shambles with.
Global and Bevyn, they are one serious dubsteppin duo.
I LOVE 8 bit dub on that album...
womp.

lorenz0 01-02-2009 07:10 PM

oh i can get in on this one.

well my ALL time favorite albums would be:

Alexisonfire - all of them but crisis is my favorite

Rise against - The Sufferer & The Witness. Siren Song Of The Counter Culture would be my next favorite from them and the new album is great just not my all time favorite by them.

I have a bunch of other bands that i like but between those 2 i own all the albums and everyone else i just have 1 or 2.

Only By The Night.

Seen them in TO on Nov. 7th... the show they put on was 10x that of RHCP when they came to Calgary a ways back.. and that's saying something from a massive RHCP fan. If you ever get a chance to see them, don't pass it up!
