tank moving day
Well we moved the tank today to the new house and I just wanted to thank Brad and Adam for all there help. Because I am redoing some stuff I only moved my stuff into a holding tank while I am building.
Here are some pics the holding tank (all muddy as we dumped 300 lbs of sand in first) http://members.shaw.ca/stircrazy/move/holdingtank.jpg My skimmer (this think kicks ass, pulling stuff out like mad) http://members.shaw.ca/stircrazy/move/skimmer.jpg Brad and Adam unpacking some corals http://members.shaw.ca/stircrazy/move/unpacking.jpg My surviving Millipora http://members.shaw.ca/stircrazy/move/milli.jpg Tank starting to clear up 3 hours later http://members.shaw.ca/stircrazy/move/startclear.jpg alright the sea clone wasn't the skimmer that was running  http://members.shaw.ca/stircrazy/move/realskimmer.jpg all and all it went prety smoth except for me breaking my calcium reactor and one tank that got broke. so I have to see how fast I can get a new end put it. Steve |
I'm going to try the skimmer tied to the stove technique....looks effective!!

Hey Steve, Hope everything works out for you. Fun huh? Question, whats the purpose of the upside down u section on the effluent of your skimmer? As well did you use all old water or did you have some new?

I used 90% new water as I had the pool up and running 2 days befor the move, the only old water we used was the stuff the fish and corals rode in. I think we dumped about 100 gall of old water in the front yard. I checked on things this morning anf alll the fishies are swimming around and the water is clear. the rocks are covered with silt so I blew some of them off. guess I will be doing this for a few days. Steve |
Steve, does the skimmer not overflow on start up with that design?
|
That milli is huge, how old is that sucker?

Well congrats on the move to your new pad Steve
Looks like your gonna be busy with wet and dry hands for a few years now  I hope things go Quote:
Did you have to move everything else as well  Oh let me guess, you and the boy's moved the tank and you got your wife and kids to move the rest right  And if I were to guess, I would say that in the third image it looks like Brad is contemplating on going in for a dip    Steve, maybe if your not using that old Sea"clunker" you could give it to Brad and he could work his magic on it- for some poor soul who has a Prizm model  cheers, Rich |

Jack I am not sure on the age but I got it just befor christmas and it was about 1/3 that size. it used to be a beautiful tri color milli with a base of blue, oarnge tips and a grean highlight on the branches. sence the over heat event it has been brown which is what color it was when I got it so I am confadent it will regain its color.
