Putty dam to hold water while drilling

Don't give up yet, carefully remove top and bottom plastic frames, get a new glass cut and silicone it in

I am not sure it would be worth the trouble for the cost of that tank?

fencer 08-02-2009 03:00 AM

I am not sure about the cost....might be cheaper to buy ordinary glass and do some bracing

BlueAbyss 08-02-2009 06:24 AM

Aww, dude that sucks. Probably cheaper to buy a new tank, but go with a thicker glass for that panel if you decide to replace it so you don't have to brace it. Braces are such a pain...

Shitty, but 20 gal longs are usually tempered, standard 20 gals are not.

If you replace the back you won't be able to use thicker glass if you want the black trim to fit. And the same thickness untempered with a hole won't be strong enough.
