A good skimmer *will* remove 30% of TOC. You'll notice Kien regularily updates his first post to combat this.

How's the bubble magus skimmer working for you? any problems yet?

I'm building a 225g + 30g frag tank + sump system and am debating between the skimmer you purchased or the next step down. But the smaller one is only rated for 215g. Doesn't seem to be a skimmer I that lineup for 215-315g.

Do you recommend your skimmer for others?

I am actually liking this skimmer now. For the first year that I had this skimmer it was nothing but headaches. It would blow its skimmer cup often and I could not figure out why. I came so close to throwing it into the recycling bin so many times! After about a year it started to settle down and hasn't blown its load in quite a while. I think it just needed an insanely long break in period LOL. Anyway.. I won't be replacing this skimmer any time soon. I'm in love with it again.

Update!

The tank is still sitting where I last left it ( in my living/dining room). It is still holding salty water at a specific gravity of 1.026. There are still fish in there. A few clams, corals, algae, the usual suspects.

That is all. Carry on.

Are you sure? Maybe you should look closer. I know it can be difficult to spot but I'm pretty sure you'll see it if you look carefully. If not, let me know and I can help you out.
