Hahaha, seems like ive been good at hiding it, a bunch of people have missed out on it

Mind sharing what the front-to-back depth of your external box is? I guess there is a tiny bit of play room where you're trimming the bulkhead right? Awesome!

Yeah for sure!, the box is 3 1/2" front to back, and the bulkhead is cut down at a bit of an angle, and when it is in the glass it looks like this (because the inside casing of the nano wavebox was kind of angled when i looked at it)

Here are a few good pictures of the box and pump

thanks for the added details. i'm likely going to copy this myself! Is the width of that compartment important you think? it looks a lot wider than a nano wavebox....

Yeah it is a lot wider then the nano wavebox, but i did it only to accommodate the bulkhead, just so long as you have more water volume then the original you'll be fine.

I made a video a while back explaining it all, here you go!

Great thanks.

I'm guessing it's a little bit quieter than the standard box since you're not pumping from within a thin plastic cavity.

Do you think gluing the pvc sleeve to the front of the pump and slipping that into the bulkhead (no margnets) would work? Seems like that might be even more quiet?

EDIT: nevermind saw your watertest video and suddently remembered that this pump doesn't have a tube shaped shroud on it like the stream pumps. I even had a nano wavebox oops! You could take this one step further and use the rubber grommet mounts from the new nano streams to make it even more silent.

You get one hell of a wave in there btw!

I thought about that, but when you look at the magnetic holder it has rubber pads to stop the vibration from turning your whole tank into a tuning fork. I think if you were to make it all one solid piece as the pump turned on and off it would jump just a little as the all do but then because the bulkhead is directly on the glass with no rubber barrier 100% around it on all sides i think it would end up making a lot of noise and eventually hurt either the pump or the glass.

you would also have to notch the pvc to allow water to flow past it, and that would then decrease the area you can glue, i think after time it would just shake itself loose, but its worth a try!! i just never did

Alright so here is the finished product, in its final resting place

So now that that project is knocked off the list I have a few things left to go before splash down can commence!!

I still have to build an acrylic shield that will house my 90 degree cords for everything to get plugged into, and will also fully encapsulate the rest of my electronics so they don't end up with water damage from being in the sump cabinet,

and then i need to pick up, a two little fishies phosban reactor to run GFO and carbon

and then i need to pick up a 150w heater

and last but certainly not least i need to pick up a tunze 1073.050 silence pump to feed the reactor, the return to the tank, the refugium and the water fall

Then i can start to cycle the tank as i build the LED's to light it all up!!
