Help

Old thread, I know. Need to stop this ongoing infestation, our zoas are being smothered out for starters. I'm almost ready to restart the tank with new/unaffected rock/sand. Please help me to not do this. I do recall that some subsided a cpl mths ago with a chemiclean (for red cyano) treatment. Did anyone confirm that carbon dosing actually helped, if yes, how was it applied?

You could try what they did in the article below. Haven't had that issue so cant really comment on it.

I recently dealt with them and it wasn't fun. I tried everything the only things that worked was fendobenzol which you need a prescription from a vet to get. PM me if you need some I know of where you can get it now
It's been 7 months and I haven't seen a single clove. I did however lose the mojority of my cleanup crew and a large portion of my Sps. I'm not sure if it was the fendobenzol or the purple clove dying off was what actually killed the Sps.

Personly I don't think people should sell them period. They don't just stay confined to a single rock, they will spawn and pop up all over the tank randomly one day and then you are screwed.

I would love to try one of these treatments but I have way too many softies plus a big portion of my cleanup crew is 1000s of astrena starfish.

To be fair my purple polyps have really gone down from the infestation I had a few years ago. I find LPS will encrust over them, like favia, gonestra and blastomussa even of course this will take many years unless you put some fast growing chalice over them.

I hope one day someone will sell a clove polyp eating nudibranch. That's my last hope I just deal with having them on a few rocks these days.
