mmmmmm aqua controllers.

I'll be adding one to my 50...did you get the one with computer hookups as well? Kevin and I talked about that one today and it seems that's the one I'm getting!

Good to hear Lance.. I'm sure you will get 1 or 2 PM's from me regarding how you got yours running/setup...

Yea, I got the Serial Interface cable with it... unfortunately I have to install Winblows as a 2nd operating system on my Mac, as I don't think ACjr is Mac compatible... Not really concerned about computer hooks up as the Jr doesn't support email notification or web server options like the AC3 and AC3 Pro.

Looks great, as usual.

Are you going to be running your controller on the new tank or this one?

Sad news today...

I lost my Copperband Butterfly sometime between last night and this afternoon.. I had a creeping feeling that she wasn't doing well, as she stopped eating 2 days ago, and has been swimming around kinda "spaced out" not hunting in the rocks anymore and such...

I really enjoyed her while I had her though... I suspect she was cyanide caught based on how quickly she deteriorated. So that was my last attempt at trying one.

fishytime 04-26-2009 03:49 AM

Dude...that sucks:sad:.....seemed like it was doing really well:question:

The worst part of it is, you KNOW there is something wrong that you can't do anything about to help, a QT wouldn't have helped, and there were no physical signs that could help me determine meds (not that any could be used for cyanide though). Just kinda feel helpless.

Alberta-newb 04-26-2009 06:29 PM

Sorry to hear about it, sucks when you kind of know it's going to happen and there's nothing you can do about it:sad:

JDigital 05-11-2009 03:48 AM

Well, I get to sit out and keep a close eye on my tank after the lights go out tonight... When they came on today, I noticed a large patch of my Golden Zoas completely missing... So I have to suspicions of what is eating them... A worm (eucinid??) or a large black "emerald" crab I have seen once or twice.. 3rd possibility is my Coral Beauty, but I have never seen him nip during lights on, so I have my doubts, but who knows he is an Angel...

Wish me luck! :twised:

JDigital 05-19-2009 03:45 AM

I shouldn't do this as it makes it harder to sell off now, after feeding time tonight the tank was looking great, and the clowns and tang were very active to whipped out the camera and snapped some pictures...

The clowns were going mental in the Torch right after feeding...

Cleaner Shrimp out and about... Stupid thing doesn't clean my fish at all.. but eats like a pig...

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...d/IMG_0572.jpg

And some top down coral photos... I don't do much top down shooting because its a pain in the ass to do..

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...d/IMG_0593.jpg

I'm pretty sure this has become my favorite piece of SPS... Something that definitely won't be going with the tank..

On another note I love your tang!

fishytime 05-28-2009 03:57 AM

I love his PBT too. I sooo wish I could babysit him for you while the biggun gets built.

Aleks 05-28-2009 04:31 AM

J, how do you get your pics? I get alot of distortion at angles when using any of my lenses.....May be the standard glass too, but I can't get anything clear....

haha... thanks.. I don't take many pics of the foxface, because he is usually cowering in a corner.. They are such timid fish..

All my fish photos are straight on shots... otherwise the lens fights to find focus at angles too... for the couple half FTS shots, I was away from the glass a few feet so I don't think the angle and refraction from the glass is quite as apparent as when trying to shoot an angle close up.. I'm sure Starfire glass would make a huge difference with that, hence why I'm getting it on my big tank..

JDigital 06-01-2009 07:46 PM

Having troubles keeping up with fishytime and all his photo updates, so I went through the tank last night and shot every single coral I got... Actually I just got bored last night while my buddy recorded my tank for a video he wants to put together (like the one in fishytimes sig) Here's the first batch... Next batch coming soon (whenever I get around to them)..

Also changed my MH bulbs this weekend... I switched from the Ushio 14K's to the Ushio 20K's... Taking a bit to get use to the change, but I think I will prefer it over time. We'll see!

I know! I was a little stunned at first when I saw the difference... Never thought I would like the 20K look in my own tank, but everything looks better to me! F'n Love it! Might switch out the Gmann Actinic+ for a KZ Fiji Purple tho..

Pazil 06-02-2009 04:07 AM

Wow Josh... I love the 20k lights..... When I change mine out that is what I am going with.

Yea. I assume I will loose a bit of the "umph" in my growth, but I can live with that (and help by dosing) if the overall look of the tank is more pleasing to me.

Carmen 06-02-2009 01:12 PM

WOW! Josh I love the color in those pics! Looks amazing! And that Favia looks awesome - good pic!:mrgreen:

Sorry, haven't gotten around to shooting that pic yet...

But, I was playing around with my camera tonight, and decided to take the lens off, and flip around, and took a couple pics to see what I could do... The only post-processing I did was resizing/border.

Canon 60mm Macro f/2.8 lens flipped backwards, handheld (aka, lens isn't attached to the camera)

My Red Montipora Digitata (used to be peaches and cream I had for sale)
