Not familiar with the "gold" package. Does it come with gold? The lab grade kit is 560ish. What all did you get?

Guess you haven't seen this yet.

You are bike guy, right?

JDigital 06-14-2014 01:00 AM

Wow! They suckered you in Doug! IMO, the extra probes are useless. (ORP and Salinity?)

I would have gone with this (http://www.reefsupplies.ca/online-st...-Grade-PH.html) and added on a Break Out Box and maybe a 2nd EB8 power bar.. would have given you more useful functionality for less money.. The break out box can control SOOOO much stuff.

It's no wonder you're so confused on how to set everything up... LOL! You got everything!

Doug 06-14-2014 01:05 AM

:heh: But I like probes.

:pound: I have all these probe holes to fill

I'm not touching that with a 10ft probe...

Doug 06-14-2014 03:02 AM

Guess I have a salinity probe than I never knew. Not sure what for though.

I have 6 probe holders in my sump and they are all full....

LoJack 06-14-2014 02:35 PM

I like the salinity probe. Its easy for salinity to wander. At least for me.

I have no use for ORP. But Temp and Salinity are the two I'd want for sure. And I'd have the two PH probes if I was running a calcium reactor or kalk, But I dose two part ... so PH isn't very important for me.

Doug 06-14-2014 05:00 PM

I still need to figure out how to run 2 ph probes and a orp probe at the same time

Pretty sure you can't.

The 2 connections on your base unit work like this:

1 = pH only.
2 = pH OR ORP. (You have to select which one in the setup menu)

So you can either run 2 pH, no ORP, or 1 pH & 1 ORP.

That is to the best of my knowledge at least.

Doug 06-14-2014 07:03 PM

This should allow me some expansion ?

JDigital 06-14-2014 08:58 PM

It would if you've got one... I'm guessing it's part of the Gold package?

Doug 06-15-2014 02:26 AM

Apparently not.

JDigital 06-15-2014 04:56 AM

What's another $90...

Doug 06-15-2014 04:27 PM

Agreed. Perhaps I can change the couple hundred extra for useless parts for one of those.....

Doug 06-15-2014 07:09 PM

KOOL. I have it on my computer. Believe me thats some accomplishment for me.

Now to figure out how to program outlets?

Doug 06-16-2014 04:11 AM

Sooooooooo. Cleaned my rock and its back in. A lot less Brad. Also added a sandbed combine of fine white bio sand and courser black bio sand. My new little yellow wrasse loves it.

Fish are back in but no corals. The are in a separate tub for now recovering nicely. At least what I have left are. Pic to come tomm....
