Well, just an update.

I managed to reclaim my planet and while my original fleet is still MIA, I have managed to put together another 20 battleships, 15 cruisers and 30 destroyers and am sending them at a planet in my sector.

The guy is ranked WAYYY higher then me, but he has been idle for 4 days now - strange thing is, he is ranked so much higher but his sciences are only lvl 15 where mine are 20 and he only has 1 more planet then I do.... guess its all due to XP.

I have watched two of his other planets get taken out in the past 2 days, so I figure I would attack his last planet in this sector and see if I can earn some XP. I hope he doesnt login for the next 5 hours or so :)

He only has a low level starbase on this planet. I am thinking this would mean that he has a decent sized fleet on the planet. But, perhaps not as he is also in the other sector I can see and he has built up his starbases pretty high over there...

Anyways, wish me luck! Maybe I can finally earn some XP... or perhaps I'll have my ass handed to me again.

Anyone know why my culture is 9 but it won't let me colonize my ninth planet. It says I must increase culture first?

I had that problem before.

I sent a couple colony ships to a spare planet when my culture was too low to capture the planet. I then waited until my culture went up and thought the ships would automatically colonise. But they didnt. I ended up sending the colony ships BACK to the same planet and then they colonised the planet.

All that happened is you did not log-in after your culture went up but before your fleet arrived.

Launch them back to the same planet and it will colonize

okay a few quick questions for you that have played before this beta...

I am wondering what happens after the game is done, do you just start over with one planet?

Do you get a bonus based on your fleet or # of planets?

Just wondering how it all starts and if I should do or not do something as the game is ending, looks like there are a few people that are very close to 500 (excluding the hacker).

Sucks tho, cant figure out how to make culture go up faster.

Trade agreements are the schnizzle! I will be saving and making agreements on the next beta rather then wasting money on artifacts!

ranked 1908!!! Not too shabby for having to resign =) I am sure I will do much better next beta!

Ranked 334 now but got as high as 294 for a few days :cool: ...

I agree on trade agreements but early on they wont pay as much dividends as artifacts ... also if that player gets toasted then there goes one of your agreements :sad: ... I think they are good a little later in the game.

The next beta should be interesting ... I will be in the hunt next time :mrgreen:

I am pretty much lost on this planet.. I have 12 SB.. about 479 Destroyers and some 22 Cuisers.. but I still have no way to win.. I can send some 93 Colony ships there in time too boost my SB but I don't think I can make it to the 15 or 16 I need to get it to win.. can anyone contribute to my cause? :)

Is it worth scaraficing my fleet or should I just take over another planet?

Also, what is the sequence of increasing in cost for SB? I am at 12.. I want to know how much it will cost me to get to 15..

after you get to sb lvl 14 it's more cost effective to build ships. cruisers would have the best chance of surviving. but with 2000+ destroyers i think you've pretty much lost that planet.

Sorry man, love to help you but I am facing a fleet half that size attacking two of my planets :(

I wish this one was half the size.. The one thing I do not get is that he has lots of opertunity all around him, yet he decided to go for me? Weird.. oh well.. I think this planet is gone but I can easily get back I think.

The only consolation is that this beta will be over in 5 days or less :sad:

Yup, I think all this attacking is just people trying to get a better ranking before the game is up.

Oh well I am in the 1400's now and I havent really done anything even.

yeah, oh well.. I decided to take my fleet away from the planet and instead concentrate on taking over another one in my system. Get back what I am about to lose.. actualy I will not lose the planet it will be sieged.. but I am sure with that fleet he will just go to each planet.. and knock it off one by one.. If only it was my first planet.. I had over 6000 pp.. I could have gotten my SB up high enough to kick some butt.. that would have hurt him to see a huge fleet like that go up in smoke..

Ok, qustion.. my Highest Planet is under siege. I want to buy up PP's with my ASTRO $$.. will the points go to my highest planet not under siege or just my highest planet.. period??

If it is already seiged ( red ) then the PP's will goto the next highest non-seiged planet ... If you are notified of the seige but they have not arrived then the PP's will goto the highest planet

This isn't as the date gets closer.
If we try logging in right off from the start line everybody is going to be logging in, could be issues. Maybe we wait until late that night or something like that. Although I don't really know, but I read on the forum server jam issues are common in the starting times.

well humm I would not mind waiting till day two to be close but by the same token a day of not building could really kill your chances of getting up there in the rankings!

Games over and I still know how to get my but kicked!

If you think there would be a noticeable advantage to be a few hours earlier I say we go for it at the start however, it’ll be pure luck if we get close to each other. Why not wait for say nine or ten at night then sign up and we’ll have only missed a few hours so only a few points?
