So ya, the Halide fixture is still the original Maristar Halide+T5 combo fixture from day one. It has served me well, but so old skool. Unfortunately, it is getting increasingly difficult and more expensive to replace the bulbs on it. As a result, I am in the process of formulating a plan to replace the fixture. |
Yesterday I decided to clean out my overflow box. I don’t think I’ve touched it in over two years. That was a mistake. It was completely filled with tube worms. And not the soft skin feather dusters either. The ones that make the hard calcium tubes. Nasty.

Oh man… how did they not disrupt the drains and overflow water amount! Nasty looking for sure. Now I better take a look into my overflow…

Ugh, I need to do this too. I’ve been avoiding it by refusing to look back there.

Haha darn, I was going to ask how you didn’t have a huge mess… but sounds like you did lol. I have the bean style drains as well. I’m going to have to pull the pipes and give it a good clean, and of course the tank is against a wall.

Took advantage of some awesome weekend sales this past weekend.

Nice pieces and good variety. Envious of the amount of corals being sold in Calgary compared to Edmonton.
