Thanks,

I use a T3i with a canon macro lens. Shot using AF in RAW mode with tripod.

lastlight 10-23-2013 11:10 PM

That's ReefRaft Orange passion

kien 10-24-2013 04:29 AM

This is as close as I will ever come to reefraft goodness. Awesome spread man.

uniboob 10-24-2013 01:21 PM

He is the RR of Hamilton. Man I drool as soon as I see the glow when I go over. Always something new that catches my eye.

kien 10-24-2013 02:34 PM

Sadly ReefRaft doesn't exist out west :-(

Also, thank god ReefRaft doesn't exist out west  Although, I wouldn't mind trying a piece or two of RR one of these days. I hear they can be quite challenging to maintain colour.

Thankfully ReefRaft will ship lol. I have 7 rr pieces and yes some are harder. But mostly because the origanal pics are from when they first come into captivity. My pink Floyd for eg is not the pink Floyd we see. That's the downside of wild pieces

Ya, I tried to set up a group order with a local Calgarian a few months ago. It kinda fell through the cracks though. Mostly because neither of us were prepared for the financial hit at that time  I may try again one day, but it's not easy. They gave us their marketing pictures only, so no WYSIWYG unfortunately. And yes, you're right. With most of these pieces being wild it's a bit of a crap shoot in trying to maintain their lustre.

Anyway, in the meantime I will just enjoy vicariously through this thread :-D

Reef Raft Canada has recently closed its doors to retail.

They are a wholesale only company now.

Although Jay has closed his doors to the general public, he will still be around selling corals privately. I wouldn't rule out getting specific corals shipped. RR doesn't want to deal with the day to day traffic, but shipments are still in the ball game!

The best corals in Canada will still come through RR.

The plot thickens! That's certainly an interesting turn of events. So does that mean they're going to be another "ReefWholesale" ? With the exception that they may ship to the odd hobbyist ?

kien 10-24-2013 09:41 PM

Also, sorry for the 'jack. Maybe we should move this discussion into the lounge

Proteus 10-25-2013 12:11 AM

I'm sure if your order was big enough jay would be more than glad to ship. He has been good with me and any q I have

Bugger 10-25-2013 12:13 AM

Thanks Nick. I have went through a lot of Scoly's lately, and that is the only one I have seen that is almost perfect in symmetry between the green and red.

I have given it the title of...

"Ultra Super Mega Master Bleeding Apple Scoly"

Taipan 11-12-2013 06:53 PM

You knew I'd comment on that Scoly and Clam :) Schexy! .....oh yeah....the other stuff is nice too ;)

Reef Pilot 12-22-2013 03:32 PM

Geez, you sure know how to tempt a guy!!... Been trying to hold off with buying expensive corals like high end rics, acons and scollies, etc..... Plus I don't want corals that I have to feed. Have to say, though, they sure are beautiful!!

hillegom 12-22-2013 06:26 PM

Wow
Colours are fantastic:biggrin:

Thanks!

You don't have to feed Acans, they do benefit from additional feedings, but in most systems it is not required.
