You think that's bad? I never really planned for power outages too well and the first time I tested for one I got quite scared. When the display, pipes and fuge all finish truckling down into the sump I see the meniscus form at the top of the sump!

My solution is to drill a few holes in one of my 4 return outlets into the tank. They extend about an inch down into the water when the tank's running. If I can break siphon earlier...well an inch less draining down there is a massive deal!

We (my wife and I) love what you've done with the horse tank. I know she wants something similar some day so do it up right and maybe I'll copy one one day!

nice upgrade. I noticed on your bigger tank that you have a T5 fixture growing sps. What bulbs do you use?

What I did was make my primary drain standpipes a bit taller, so less water drains out of the overflow boxes.....when I get motivated I will hack apart the return line to the pony tank and plumb in a check valve.... that ought to help...FWIW I have siphon breaks drilled into the return lines.

Im running mostly Aquascience bulbs (a combo of the 15s and 22s) with a KZ New Gen thrown in for good measure.

Ohohhh...I had that softie. Capnella or something...I'm sure you know. Damn thing grows like a weed and then jettisons little baby corals. I hope a piece doesn't make it into the sump. I'm sure even if the pump chewed it to shreds and put it into the 110...it'd make it!

Its only there temporarily....until I can get a toadstool or something less invasive...I finally wiped the 110 of the xenia that was in there....hope I didnt just jinx myself:lol:

Not too much going on with the pony tank except for a huge new tank algae bloom....this kinda surprised me as the bulk of the rock had been in 110 gallon's sump for months and I didnt expect it....I guess a new tank is a new tank is a new tank it is...there are still some ponies at the shop but I am resisting taking them home until the skimmer for the system finally arrives by three legged donkey:mrgreen:....that and the other reason Im resisting taking them home is the resident seahorse expert believs all of the remaining ponies are female:neutral:

I did manage to make the door for the stand....now all I have to do is laminate the exposed edge and pick some nifty handles...http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o...e/IMGP3685.jpghttp://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o...e/IMGP3687.jpg
