Yea i had aefw. The worst of the worst. Since then I have dipped them once a week every week for 9 weeks. After dip 4 i didn't see anymore worms. But wanted to be extra cautious before adding them to my new system, so dipped an additional 5 times. Colours pretty much vanished, but on the bright side I'm 100% sure there is no more pests

Thanks! I lucked out and found it on craigslist. Pretty happy with the dimensions though.

Thanks Walter, I'm sure this one will be out of room within 6 months  gonna have to get creative with this one though, because i dont think I can go much bigger then this in my condo lol.

You got that right! I bet it feels good to that taken care of.

love your tank

Hi,

I have read all the posts about your tank quite closely as I am going to shut down my 100 gal corner tank due to leakage. Then I going for a 6ft tank like yours but 72"x22"x22". I have already decided on black sand and it's nice to see you using it in your reef.

Could you itemize your equipment and what brands you used? It would be really helpful.

Did you drill only one hole for intake and outtake? My tank has two. After all, water has to go in and then out. I would like to have 2 holes in the corner and hide the pipes with an curved overflow box. Does that make sense? Do I make sense?

Feels pretty damn good I wont lie. I almost gave up and sold everything a few times along the way, but glad I stuck with it.

Iv been using black sand for just over 2 years and love it. Takes a bit more work to keep it looking good though because you see every little spec of rock or coral or whatever happens to be on the sand. As far as equipment goes, I don't know the brands of half the stuff I have. I have an Apex running my main components, I have a 5 bulb Aqua Medic halide fixture, an ATI skimmer rated for 400-500 Gallons, I am currently just using my old MP10s from my 72 gallon and they have actually amazed me at how much water they can move. I will be switching to the gyres though in the near future. Other than that its pretty basic, phosban reactor, chiller, and heater. As far as holes go it's in this thread that shows the hole drilling process used on my tank. I have a herbie overflow, so 2 holes for the overflow and 1 for the return. Hope this helps
