I'm so glad that I got that round bin. I did a water change last night and a 35 gallon water change took me 7 mins. Mind you I did dump the salt in before I went to work in the morning to let it premix. But it's quite effective and it makes maintenance a breeze. When I ran about 600 gallons of saltwater before, I was horrible at doing water changes cause it was all 5 gallon buckets. |
Very nice Dez, things are really coming along.

A few updates. Here are some random pictures of new "ish" frags. Haven't gotten around to taking pictures of them.
Pink Stylo http://i600.photobucket.com/albums/t...g?t=1262323130 Some sort of Monti http://i600.photobucket.com/albums/t...g?t=1262323170 Another some sort of Monti http://i600.photobucket.com/albums/t...g?t=1262323213 Bright purple Acro http://i600.photobucket.com/albums/t...g?t=1262323246 This is a frag I got from Lobsterboy a while ago, it's turned really really bright. It was pinkish when I got it, now it's practically the brightest coral in the tank. http://i600.photobucket.com/albums/t...g?t=1262323279 This is a crayola table from Lobsterboy as well. It went through a bit of trouble (falling into my hammer coral - I lost half of it but now it's grown back), it has now almost doubled in size. It's in sort of a shaded area of the tank, but when it grows into the light it should colour up some, the tips are still coloured. http://i600.photobucket.com/albums/t...g?t=1262323343 Growth sequence - Green Acro Sept 22 (Note, this is on the sandbed of a 24" tall tank. It is lit with a 150 watt halide for the duration of this growth) http://i600.photobucket.com/albums/t...g?t=1262323471 Dec 31 (hard to take a picture as I have many corals around it now and it's been shaded for quite some time now). The growth surprises me because of all the shade and being at the bottom. I thought I'd have to move it, but instead of browning, it's coloured up even nicer. http://i600.photobucket.com/albums/t...g?t=1262323657 Lastly, the last FTS of 2009 Den side: http://i600.photobucket.com/albums/t...g?t=1262323711 Living room side: http://i600.photobucket.com/albums/t...g?t=1262323738 Thanks for looking everyone. Happy New Year!! Thanks all for frags and advice in 2009. I have enjoyed this build so far and hopefully enjoy it even more for 2010. |
WOW love your tank!!!
Just found this thread today, i had fun caching up on the 44 pages:biggrin: Im really impressed on your tank build a lot of very interesting ideas. Im really liking all the sps corals. I have a 30 gallon sps tank thats been running for about 3 month and just recently started to add some corals to it and was wondering what zeovite product your using? I can just imagine how it looks in person!! Great job!! Thanks Daniel |
Des, that pink pocci in the first pic is dope.
and the tank is looking great, a few more months and its going to be packed with sps growth  |

Believe it or not, it's actually a Stylo (the mother colony that I got it from was about 12" accross and large and lumpy like your typical stylo, this was just a mutant growth off the side in which I convinced the owner to frag ) I'm looking forward to my tank growing out to your calibre! Cheers |
I can't believe the colours starting to take shape in that tank Dez...like WOW! When you're in the frag selling business (and it won't be long lol) I hope to be ready to jump in line!
