What killed the scoly? I have a bleeding apple as well.. would hate to lose it!
|
Not too sure what happened but out of the blue it just melted away. I think its cause I slacked off on feeding it....

The orange and green acan is killer. Did you import this rock like this?
|
I need to know where that shipment is going. I gotta intercept!!

Its a collection of various types of Aussie acans from various orders over time. They were originally stuck together but have long since fuzed into one solid piece. That crazy orange one overhung a ledge a bit and has actually grown polyps on the underside of the colony too. |

I have to say, that's one killer acan. I went and saw it today and I sure would like a few minutes alone.. Well me and my clippers.. With it! I sure could do with a polyp of that orange!!

Here's a one of a kind Trachy I picked up at ReefRaft. It is purple w/ green highlights. Also, I attached a pic of my Holywood Stunner chalice. It is HUGE! 13" x 16" showpiece.
|
^ That is not a Trachyphyllia. Trach are Open Brains. You either have a Closed Brain coral from the Faviidae family or maybe even Acanthastrea sp. Would need a picture of it all puffed up once it settles in to ID for sure.
|
You may be right. I was skeptical about it being a Trachy. It is definitely not an acan though and I really don't think it is a favia either though. I will take a top-down shot to show more of the open areas of the coral. I would love to have an ID of it though.

Got an ID on it. It is a Symphyllia wilsoni. http://coral.aims.gov.au/speciesPages/species_metadata/0362/view# Thanks Reefermadness! |

Allright, I'll post a couple pics. Man there are some beautiful pieces in here. I'll post my main center piece, aside from my clam..lol
Trying to upload a pic that is recent, as it has almost doubled in size and isn't all puffy after feeding..lol |
